I think this is where the show jumped the shark.

Everything about this was cookie cutter/generic and they just threw the disgusting birth in the mix for shock value and to not make it seem so generic.

But the new jobs/horizons for Shosh/Jessa, the Ross/Rachel-esque Ray/Marnie build up, and Hannah leaving the tumultuous relationship for the "right" one was like typical TV.

I get the vibe the first 2 seasons were basically the memoirs of Lena Dunham and her crew as they grew up in NY. Of course, this is a completely interesting look at this generation's "coming of age".

This season seems like it was an actual attempt at writing from scratch, but it's not compelling at all. The directionless misadventures of the first 2 seasons > generic long storylines they're trying to establish now.

This was a great season, I see the hate it gets for no reason and I am puzzled by it. Hate watch? Wtf is that? I get people don't like the characters but they are real . Go to brooklyn and deny coming across these types. Ray didn't simp at all , he came out of his shell from the past seasons and he is going for what he wants and not staying on the sidelines like he used to . Letting life pass him by is gone , him telling Desi he was a fukk boy was on point because Desi baited him and he called him out on it. Desi was a punk who didn't do nothing when it was on the line. He let Marnie write the lyrics while he played with his bike . Not showing up for that gig was a p*ssy move and Ray was right. Hannah going with the teacher was the right choice also. Adam going in another direction anyway , the actor is going to blow in the new Star Wars movie anyway, he might have requested to get written out the show. Shosh and Jessi couldn't be fukk ups forever, they had to advance also.

I liked earlier seasons better as well. I mean this show used to be funny. now it's just pretentious and all over the place with these aging entitled hipsters.

I agree that hating the characters isn't a good reason to hate the show. The show makes fun of all its characters. Ray is a simp using some kind of mental gymnastics to justify himself. He's just as much a clown as Desi. The characters on this show aren't likable, and that's OK, but this show isn't as funny as it once was.

Yeah man.. Whoever is writing Lena Dunham's dialogue should be ashamed of themselves...They are relegated to using Vegas style comedian one liners..

this show doesn't stir up strong feelings in me whatsoever. normally i like to dissect the shows i watch, love or hate, but this is one I've always been able to just watch. it's one of those shows that is a half hour but always feels like it's 15 minutes. I had no problems with this season really.

... except for the birth scene. funny and shocking, but my God that little girl has become a disgustingly ugly woman

... actually I lied a little. Kinda hated Gillian Jacobs's character and every scene involving her. Also, looks wise, she gets homlier everytime I see her irl and on tv. shame

I wouldn't even mind Ray simping, if it wasn't directed at fukking triflin ass Marnie. Her and desi are both awful and deserve each other. Ray chewing him out was great and all but I wanted to puke when he said Desi didn't deserve her. :what: flys and shyt seem like a fitting combination to me.

idk why yall throwin shade at desi he basically owned that hoe and made her do whatever he wanted. id say he got god tier pimp game.
He didn't own shyt. End of the day he out two girls or you forgot he gave up his original girl for Marnie. He doesn't have musical credibility since he bailed on the showcase. Ray punked him while he did nothing but go into hiding.
