They are really fans because that's from Da Bassment tapes. The song you posted came up in my Apple Music once and had me confused. I'm like, "this ain't no 'B-Party'". Thanks to your post, I now know it was a Brent Faiyaz song sampling that song.

Timbaland was so much of a genius producer, he made Justin Timberlake cool. Even with The Neptunes producing Justin Timberlake's debut single, "Like I Love You" got a lukewarm reception. He was still just the dude from N'sync who was cosplaying Michael Jackson in look and sound. "Cry Me A River" changed that and legitimized Justin as a solo act. Granted, I look at Ginuwine's The Bachelor album as the template for Timbaland creating Justin's sound.
