Americans watch womens gymnastics, figure skating, tennis, golf, soccer, swimming, track and field, etc.....and yeah you get a comment or two if someone is very attractive but most of the discussion is about the performance. When you watch those sports there really is no discernible difference from the mens game, and in fact most people would rather watch womens gymnastics and figure skating than the mens variety. But when you get to basketball its just so much worse than the mens product its hard to watch. Its mens basketball stripped of excitement and physicality, and played at a slower pace.

Some nikkas watch track in passing to look at the asses, but the biggest female track stars were FloJo (not a sex symbol, some guys thing though), Jackie Joyner Kersee (not a sex symbol) and Marion Jones (not a sex symbol). They were dominant at their events and people watched them in mass. I find Allyson Felix sexy as fukk but her being there won't make me watch every event she in automatically. Mia Hamm is the biggest us women's soccer star (not a sex symbol), Cynthia Cooper was the most popular WNBA player as far as a television and arena draw (not a sex symbol). Serena Williams is a major sex symbol to some, but women's tennis always got high ratings whether it's Venus, Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, Martina, etc. Mo'ne Davis was a major star just last year as a 12 year old girl dominating boys at the LLWS. People want to see dominance, they want to feel like they are seeing something when they're watching it. If Mo'ne Davis can actually ball and dominates in the WNBA in 10 years, she'd be their MJ, and she wouldn't have to wear booty shorts.

It was an exhibition game to celebrate Abby's retirement. It shows the loyalty that sport has with the fanbase cultivated over the last 15 years. Just saying women's soccer isn't any more 'sexy' or 'feminine' than women's basketball but some men watch but more importantly business wise women's soccer gets women to support it.
