Breh cant remember that he was a 19/20 year old getting talked about. Its possible that he just forgot this
And if we're keeping it real. As bad as it was for Kwame his rookie year....it was no worse than what Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry got. All those HS guys struggled out the gate. The only guys to come out of HS to make an impact at that time was KG, Kobe and Darius Miles (believe it or not). It wasnt until Amare and then LeBron that the process of HS players changed.
Tmac was viewed as "trash", Jermaine O'Neal was considered a waste.
So in some ways things were harsh, but they were that way for everyone. And honestly, there was still hope because of all the other guys that took time to adjust. I dont remember SAS calling Kwame trash during that time tbh. He was still on CNN and Best Damn Sports Show during those days. The scrub talk only really hit when he was with the Lakers.
In fact as much as I hate Skip. When Kwame was traded to the Lakers it was Skip who was saying he still believed in him and Jordan was too rough for him.

That's not a good enough reason to go super hard on Kwame and Smush and guys like Mihm got 1% of the criticism Kwame got. It wasn't fair and he is getting properly roasted for it.
And like those 'All the Smoke' guys Stephen A. is also one of these losers promoting a tough guy image telling people he's not hard to find etc. That shyt is corny and promoting violence is on the table when Black people disagree to a national audience. How was his name dragged in the dirt. All the criticism he got was warranted. No one talked about him as person, they talked about him as a pro basketball player. And he simply wasn't good.

Nobody lasts 12 years in the league just by being big. There's plenty of big guys, 1st rounders too, who wash out of the league every year. There's 7 footers who can't even make the cut in the G-League. You could be good and STILL wash out of the league after a string of 15-20 bad games. The fact that he lasted that long without a big contract extension like Darko or Bargnani is incredible
