Invasive pythons (Burmese and African rock) are a huge problem, not just in south Florida, but parts of central and western Florida too now for those who don't know. They're breeding faster than they can be killed. They're wreaking havoc killing dogs, cats, waterfowl, small alligators, etc. Florida's subtropical climate and lack of large, plentiful predators allows many invasive species to go ham.
I live in north Florida, where it's cooler, but even here I see lizards and frogs on a daily basis...and even armadillos sometimes. I like the flora here...except the fukking cockroaches.
God I hate the cockroaches here. I opened a draw at work the other day and there was a giant one running around in there. If I see one in my house, it fukks up my entire day.
