Just a PSA for those who don't get it, because I'm sick of seeing this take: nobody cares that GFK used a verse or two from superb, because he's established in the game with many top quality projects and a spotless reputation among his peers. They give Drake shyt for it because he's a whiny carpetbagging pop star who should never have been allowed to rap in the first place.

In conclusion: context matters

I see what you're saying.

Know this tho. The second I know an emcee bit someone's verse it's a dissapointment. Emcees and authors. I relate because I trust those words are there's. Not a lie. Once falsehood comes in, it's never the same again.

Unless they come back with greatness.

Heard the single - Nems doesn't really do anything for me. Liked Ghost's verse and seeing Scram Jones working with Wu again is :leon:......:obama:.

Walk Wit Me was:ohlawd: :ohlawd::ohlawd:

As for the EP - I'm pretty sure the Raekwon Bob James joint has been out for a minute.

Where's that new straight breakbeat joint him and Rae sent Flex? :damn:

Okay.

But not in all cases. Rappers like Kool Keith, Method Man and Raekwon kept their signature voices.

10 years ago a fellow emcee heard some of my 2012 tracks and said my voice deepened - to instead rap at the tone of my 2003 work. So I listened and applied that.

Because as a rap fan I didn't want to be that nightmare. Of pretending to like my favorite artists new work by 50%.

I can name 2 others of the top who's voices went 1. Deeper 2. Slower 3. Lower energy 4. Growl and not the dope kind.

Then there's rappers who lose their values and what they stood for in life - in their rhymes.

Scary biz.

Rae’s voice is the same but he hasn’t rapped with the same energy in years.

Ghost had the voice + energy until about 2015 it seems
