Half the city's population doesn't drive, so to a lot of people other boroughs really are a different universe. Bronx and Brooklyn are only about 10 miles from each other but with public transportation that's a 1 hour commute - and the city's so congested it's alreayd a while driving anyway...but even something like Queens to Brooklyn is twice as long with a train/bus as it is just driving. There's a lot of folks in Brooklyn and Queens that have legit never stepped foot in the Bronx and vice versa.

I feel like The Bronx/Uptown is more accessible from Queens than BK because of the TriBoro and Whitestone Bridge. shyt you even got the BQE and Jackie Robinson Pkwy to to Brooklyn. Queens got access to all the 5 boroughs and LI.
