I played a little bit of the “story mode” they had...it wasn’t bad but I was kind of bored since there was no real story to hold it together...I was just randomly going around looking for tethered twins or some shyt...I wish they had offered real single player DLC that tied into the main story

What the heck are you consolers doing :picard:
Imagine paying full price for a meal and only eating half the food or less :picard:
Granted this is just for PS players but still :picard:

Ghost of Tsushima completion rate among highest for PlayStation games

Ghost of Tsushima has one of the highest completion rates among open-world games on PlayStation
Over 50% of players have finished Ghost of Tsushima's story.

Ghost of Tsushima isn’t just a critical and commercial success, it also proved to be a crowd favorite, so much so that the game now has one of the highest completion rates among open-world games on PlayStation.

Specifically, 50.2% of players have finished Ghost of Tsushima–this is based on the percentage of players that have received the ‘Mono No Aware’ trophy. For those who have yet to play the game, this trophy is awarded to players after finishing the game’s main story.

What makes this completion rate impressive is that usually, only 30-40% of players finish the main storyline in open-world games, likely because of the sheer scale of these kinds of titles. This means half of Ghost of Tsushima’s player base found the game compelling enough to finish.

Here are the completion rates based on trophies of other popular open-world games on PlayStation for comparison (as of this article’s writing):

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man – 50.8%
  • Assassin’s Creed Origins – 38.2%
  • Far Cry 5 – 36.7%
  • Days Gone – 34.7%
  • Horizon Zero Dawn – 34.1%
  • Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – 30%
  • The Witcher 3 – 29.8%
  • Death Stranding – 28.6%
  • Red Dead Redemption II – 28.2%
  • Watch Dogs 2 – 24.9%
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – 19.8%
As you can see, the only major open-world title that beats Tsushima in completion rate is Marvel’s Spider-Man. Though for us, it is a bit of an unfair to compare the two given that Spider-Man a smaller-scale open-world game. While Spider-Man takes around 25-30 hours to complete everything, you’ll need double that amount of time for a completionist Tsushima run.

That’s just games in general, a lot of people don’t ahve time to finish 30+ hour long games. These games are pushing 60+ hours filled with fluff. Casuals get hyped about games buy them and realize they ain’t gonna play mor than 10 hours of it. A lot of these games just aren’t engaging enough to be as long as they are.

That’s why i always get confused when people complain about game length. I’ll take a 12 hour game thats fun from start to finish rather than 50 hour game filled with fetch quest and tower climbing.

That’s why i don’t blame CDPR for making the main campaign of cyberpunk shorter.

It's been years since I looked at completionist numbers, but if the XBox crowd is similar to this :mindblown:

its kind of unbelievable that a game like this exist.

I never fast traveled once on this game bro, I legit walked or rode my horse everywhere. I ran every fade, did every mission, I did everything. All I ever wanted as a kid was a legit samurai game and this game was it, and guess what... I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN. :blessed:

That's how I know this game is the truth, very hard for me to find a non RPG game that I would play twice.

Xbox One vs PlayStation 4

• Out of 142 games featured above only 8 games (or 5.36%) have a higher finishing rate on Xbox One compared to PlayStation 4.
• Out of those 8 games, 7 of them have been Free Games With PlayStation Plus. (Only Call of Duty Advanced Warfare was not a PS+ game)

So why does pretty much every game have a higher completion rate on PlayStation 4? Well its hard to say really. You would think it was the other way round since PlayStation 4 has more than double the install base, which would mean more 'casual' gamers on PS4. Or maybe because the PS4 install base consists of more casual gamers they tend to have less money to spend on games and are likely to finish the games they do have. Maybe Xbox gamers buy more games on average compared to PlayStation gamers and are less likely to finish them/have a bigger backlog. Maybe Xbox gamers are just lazier compared to PlayStation gamers? What about GamePass? There are lots of factors contributing to these numbers, but it is certainly an interesting take to see PS4 come out on top on nearly every game tested.

Most people I know who are serious gamers usually own a PC and a PS for the exclusives. They say they have nothing against Xbox, but if you own a gaming PC you have no need for an Xbox.

the Xbox is just an entry level gaming pc. A lot of people just aren’t gonna spend the amount of money it takes to make a pc play like or better than a console
