It really just requires timing if we being honest.
I think if they gave the stances strengths and weaknesses, instead of just being a perfect counter to weapon types.
Plus have enemies use different stances in duels forcing you to adapt to them, it would been strategy to it.
For example if an enemy sees you using a the stone stance, they start using the water stance which effectively make your stone ineffective, so you change to wind stance to counter their water, and so on. a constant back and forth until you land the killing blow.

Still feels very fluid and cinematic looking though, also still very satisfying killing an enemy.

I was kinda surprised by the jumping being so effective in this game at first. It makes spear holders a fukking joke for the most part.

I'd just reallllllllllllly be hesitant to try it in duels. The combos they throw at you are just way too long and varied. Jump + Dodge to get space is big though. Definitely gotta use that more.

Its light.

My thoughts exactly. My problem is mashing the dodge button. Someone had mentioned earlier in the thread about it as well.

Seems like a tool to use, but I think there is no one true defensive moves in the game

Got to Act 3 but slowing down to grab all the hot springs/bamboo strikes & do some side missions......the armor you get end of Act 2/beginning of Act 3 is just :wow:...paired that with a mask you get doing the inari shrines :wow:...shyt just looks:banderas:.

Haven't really had to worry about armor stats since I've been using a specific set up.

Charm of Amaterasu - restore moderate health on kills
Charm of Okuninushi - recover health while out of combat
Charm of Ferocity - moderate increase to melee damage
Charm of Unyielding II - majorly reduce damage at 50% health or less
Charm of Inari's Might - increases health & melee by a massive amount (starts as minor until you get every inari shrine)
Charm of Resistance III - reduces all damage by a major amount

:wow: That set up got me running through mongols like it's nothing....unless it's like 9 of them nikkas then it can get .:sadcam: Fully updated sword and stabby blade shyt but that was easier since I haven't really fukked with the bow like that. :hubie:

This game is pretty damn good, loving a lot of it. How in the hell did sucker punch get this game to load so fast? and fast travel is also fast as hell.

It probably has a lot to do with the fact that this game is created and optimized exclusively for PS4. When you don't have to worry about optimizing across systems you should get much better performance across the board.

Granted devs in general need to do better with HDR lighting, sometimes that shyt be fukking up.

TYRONE GA!
If you don't have wind or moon stance and you are fighting a Brute or a spear enemy, jump and hit triangle. To knock them off balance and hit them with some quick slashes, rinse repeat. Jumping is those enemies kryptonite.

just got the wind stance and that kick to the thoat (no typo, I meant THOAT) is vicious. :whew:

sidenote: my dumbass been unlocking all these wolf's dens and didn't know you supposed to follow the fukkin fox :snoop:

Starting act 2 now...

seeing the Togo rice fields burning

I wonder if next gen we will finally get a game where we randomly pull up on battles, not little fights like 3v3 or 5v5, but like 30 vs 30 and shyt like that and we can jump in to help or help a town defend itself from an invading attack randomly and shyt. I really think a lot of games don't do justice to the war theme they try to give off. Have yet to play an open world game set during a war, where the world actually felt at war, granted Ghost of Tsushima has it's moments but it could still be better.

So according to the creative director, the weather isnt only influenced by your flute, but also by whether or not you embrace the "ghost" persona. Frequent use of "dishonorable" tactics via the Ghost skill tree will result in the island reflecting that symbolic darkness.

In an interview with Ghost of Tsushima creative director Nate Fox, he told me, "The game is definitely scripted to provide more storms as you do things which are extremely Ghost driven......"

As you stop using the skills of the samurai and begin relying on those of the Ghost, the in-game world will change to match your playstyle--transforming the gentle breezes that the enemy Mongols first encounter upon invading the island into a constant bombardment of terrifying winds, booming thunder, and flashes of lightning. Because it will be storming more often, areas will naturally be darker too, which further sells the idea of Jin dishonorably engaging his opponents when they can't see him.

Going Stealth In Ghost Of Tsushima Will Affect The Weather - GameSpot

Basically, as you succumb to the darkness, so does the island.

Samurai = sunny, clear weather.
Ghost = ominious, foreboding weather.
