Cali and Miami the most expensive restaurants I’ve ever been to. Gratuity automatically included and/or minimums per person.

I’m still baffled at how I spent $430 on food and drinks for me and my girl.

We were seated outside by the ocean too.

I started to hop over and swim off on our tab. Dine n swim on they asses lol cacs probably would’ve called the coast guard or sum shyt on me.

Every tipping thread on this forum is full of people saying “get another job” or that tipping doesn’t matter. It’s a problem. I think it’s more to do with class than race. Low class people tend not to tip. Whether they’re ghetto black people or red neck whites. If you can’t afford to tip, or have no intention of tipping…go to McDonalds. Straight up.

-This is where I always disagree. If you expect a certain amount of pay at the end of the day, get a job that does that. If you're working a job depending on the kindness of others, don't complain about it. The customer didn't hand pick you in most cases & don't owe you shyt.

I hate to say it but it's lowkey true. But mainly for poor people and some happen to be black. They don't eat out as much and it takes a while for them to learn tipping etiquette. At least this is my experience

The problem is, the onus is on the consumer to support the restaurant three times without getting extra benefits.

Paid for the meal. Paid for the service. Leaving the default deficient pay scale intact so employers don't have to come out of pocket.

No one has ever explained why tips are mandatory at the Steakhouse but not at Chic Fil-A.

Just give me a table fee and let me keep it pushing.

Fast food does not offer a sense of hospitality.

I haven't dined out since COVID but I used to tip like 15%-18% but I never ordered a lot. I'd go out myself and during happy hours and my tab would be like $17, I don't know if the wait staff looked at that $3 and thought I was a bad tipper but I just ordered a salad, water, and a side dish


I don't feel like I can afford to dine out and tip accordingly right now, so I don't, but I'm sure if more people thought like me the rest of the staff would be hurting not just the wait staff

Can have 6 people eat at a regular restaurant like Fridays and the bill can come out to $300. LMAO you know what I could do with $300?!

ive always been told by industry people white folks tip the worst. at day parties and such black folks always tip best.

I don't know about upscale dining but in casual dining no.

I was in santa cruz 2 weeks ago...ate at this mexican spot....the waiter checked on us once...and walked by multiple times

All the waiters I know don't automatically write off black people, but they size up the "type" of black people that dealing with real quick. It's almost a sixth sense. So if a black family of four comes in they expect normal tip. But if a table of rowdier, younger black women come in they don't expect nothing except loudness and having to deal with plates getting sent back. Servers in areas with black people don't immediately associate all blacks with "ghetto non-tippers" cause they'd lose out on money.

Not saying it's right, but that's what I've heard. And it's black servers that'll be the first to tell you.
