Nah.. this is heavily dependent upon the spot.. And I've been to places where waiters still want extra after the fact.

off topic.. but lately I've been feeling like when I'm out service providers feel entitled to your money as opposed to actually working for it, but this is all anecdotal so never mind me.

I remember when I ate at a authentic Chinese restaurant and I damn near had to chase the waitress around to give her a tip. Turn to find out, they don't like tips .

that's because overseas they pay people lol.

tbh a waitress/bartender in Miami should be eating regardless, unless she works at some place that is trash and has very few customars.

but there are places in america that are far less tourist attracting/probably just have a smaller base of customers where they don't pay servers shyt and rely on tipping, which is reason number 150161 why america is ass backwards.

I hate to say it but it's lowkey true. But mainly for poor people and some happen to be black. They don't eat out as much and it takes a while for them to learn tipping etiquette. At least this is my experience

The problem is, the onus is on the consumer to support the restaurant three times without getting extra benefits.

Paid for the meal. Paid for the service. Leaving the default deficient pay scale intact so employers don't have to come out of pocket.

No one has ever explained why tips are mandatory at the Steakhouse but not at Chic Fil-A.

Just give me a table fee and let me keep it pushing.
