I think it's because Ebonics and "black" mannerisms is portrayed as negative thus when some AA's see non AA's talk like that they feel like it's some sort of caricature or them faking. People talk like who they are around the most. It's very simple. If you're around hood sounding nikkas, you probably gonna talk like that. If you're from the burbs, but then you try to sound "hood" it's when it is :camby:.
portrayed negative by cacs, who cares about them tho. ebonics is how many of us talk, if we had a problem with it, we'd call each other out on it, but we dont. I just dont understand how we can turn a blind eye when we talk like that but when an asian person who grew up in magnolia projects in new orleans talk like that we :wtf: and assume they're making fun. we sound cool, we know we sound cool, if someone wants to mimic it, shouldnt we be proud? when people sound Jamaican they seem to love it, when black, asian, latino sound like a bodacious surfer, white folks be like :obama: soon as people speak ebonics we :what:

I dunno man, seems like an underlining issue imo. like an insecurity as a people with no pride but pretending to have pride. Im not talking shyt because Im guilty of :scust: when I hear non blacks talk this way, but Im starting to ease up and :ld: just as long as its not some becky from the valley mocking. :camby:

It's simple to me.

A non black person growing up in the hood or region where there's lots of blacks and sounds like them=Okay(including white folks barring them saying nikka of course).
A non black person growing up in the suburbs and is known to sound one way but when in the presence of blacks suddenly start talking in a forced way to imitate one is :camby:.

Like running into Bill during lunch break at work and he's on some ":skip: What's up dawg? What's the dilly yo??"

Like there's this Italian Cac at my job who at first meeting him I'm sure he not from the hood because of how he talks and sounds but as soon as I'm around and he's talking to me alone he tryna talk about rap, "hood shyt" and tryna be "down". I hate that shyt. Had to tell him to :camby: and stop that corny shyt.

It's because of an inferiority complex brought about by White supremacy in this country. It's the ugly "You sound white" rhetoric I heard as a kid. As if being intelligent and well spoken in the language is a trait of white people.
Dont even get me started on that shyt. I've gotten that a lot but most LA brehs probably get that when they step out of cali. whats crazy is the "you sound white" comes from black people. so what is it, is ebonic negative or positive? if im not speaking ebonics is that good or bad? if its normal and good, why yall got a problem when 'others' mimic it, shouldnt that make you :obama:

black folks confused the fukk outta me sometimes.
