I applaud Ghana. Both for its activism in proposing and instating incentives for African Diaspora. As well as its continued Economic development for its citizens. Its one of the most promising nations among the Five Lions - South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana. It'd be a monuments coup if Black wealth was redistributed within Black communities and nations. Instead of begging China and depending on the West.
African countries have to be responsible for drawing up solid investment opportunites and marketing them to Black people first. Ghana is taking the lead.

Excellent news. Ghana would be the country I move to if I decided to move to Africa.

We forget how big African countries are and that there's room for everybody. Now obviously, everybody in the diaspora isn't gonna move to Ghana or anywhere in Africa, but despite the bullshyt diaspora wars...black people HAVE TO work together to make it happen. This is for our survival because the whole world couldn't give a fukk about diaspora wars, it sees us all as black. Africa without interference should be a powerhouse that would make AmeriKKKa, China and Russia look like nothing. For those of us in the west, we need a black country powerful enough to look out for us when we get fukked with like most other people have. We can still do business even if we don't move to the continent.

fukk the ignorance and fear because the chinese and all other people are going to the continent in droves for their own self interests, we need to do the same. Everything on the continent including all the resources under the soil is all our shyt anyway and should be controlled by us.

Tbf, the US was also giving away land to the ppl they invited. This sounds more like an invitation to help develop ghana (with no guarantees on basic rule of law, basic modern amenities, etc).

Exactly. Ados with a little bit of money leave and everybody else here fukked with the resulting brain drain. I'll stick with the main group, but i hope to hear good things. Since everybody so hype, everybody itt who go, please keep us updated.

Harlem, questioning is a good thing. Don’t get me wrong a good dose of apprehension and skepticism is healthy.

What I am saying is the comments about “who wants to move to Africa...” are a little ridiculous because Africa development is a wave that will rise all boats provided the diaspora negotiates with the gov and make their expectations clear.

This is an opportunity for highly skilled AA or diaspora to make demands and make their expectations clear in order to contribute to the development.
I harp this because I would much rather black people from the diaspora to gain from this relationship than non black peoples.

I don’t care if you love Africa or Africans, that’s not what is the most important part for me, but if you see the potential it has and how it can benefit you and yours is what I care about.

I also mentioned that for those who have no interest to physically move to Africa could also find ways to create economic ties some other way.

Y'all have to stop mischaracterizing me. I have no issue with Africans in Africa. I don't know them, i have no beef with them.

Re: potential. Yall keep saying that and framing "Africa" as some wide open place where a little bit of money, elbow grease, and black pride will create wakanda, but from what im hearing, property rights arent even upheld. The resources and land all have prior claims. Its not wide open. There's a great deal of history, intergroup relationships, kin groups, etc, that we know nothing about. We will be taken advantage of, and i dont see ghana doing whatever they gotta do to mitigate that.

Basically, i feel like the few of us ados with both money and a longing for mama Africa are being lined up for a jooks. Tell me if/ how im misreading the situation. :jbhmm:

This high key sounds appealing and I wouldn't be opposed to act on it potentially (with some sort of 3-5 year plan in place) if it was just me. The decision becomes a lot more difficult if spouses and/or kids are involved. Not to mention, other immediate and non immediate family you would be leaving. It would be tough as hell.

What's their Healthcare and Information Technology systems looking like?

First of all, I say that because there is an expectation that you have to be in love with a place and it’s people in order to make way there and you don’t. Plenty of Lebanese, euros, Chinese and Indians there etc..

I mention Africa because it is a continent with 50 plus countries and people may have different countries of interest.

Third, you think every parcel of land in the second biggest continent in the world is claimed. And even if it is, people purchase land every day.

fourth, if anything I am trying to break this fantasy that some diasporan have of Africa to look at it as realistic place with issues/risks but also potential and to see where they fit in.

Africa isn’t fully developed it hasn’t stop other nationalities to make a way and to thrive in this current environment so I don’t see why AA cannot.
