Thought I would jump in as part of #GGGoodBoys and give my opinion:
- They weigh in concerns were correct, whatever it was GGG wasn't 100%. Not going to speculate what it was, but he didn't look look like he did, even vs. Wade. Even seemed drained in the post fight interview.
- My personal biggest GGG weakness is that I think he gets nervous on the bigger stages. Seemed nervous by being on PPV vs. Lemieux and seemed nervous by the UK atmosphere. That worries me more in a Canelo fight, than the matchup itself.
- GGG biggest struggle is vs. speed. I am more concerned if he fought a super slick quick guy, over a guy matching power vs. GGG, because GGG has more boxing skills than most power punchers. A slick boxer still would have to go 12, which is tough to do.
- I agree with
@TheNig talking about GGG's body work. Thought he was more effective there than upstairs.
- I also think a lot of people misinterpret GGG's English attempts.
@Newzz was right regarding the way GGG said the fight was like sparring. I don't think he meant Brook was easy like a sparring session, just that letting Kell pop and move from the outside was Kell's best shot, so he just decided to work inside with no fukk given like sparring.
- GGG needs to work on the inside game. He likes space to setup punches (something Easter should have done in round 12 vs. Commey, I was yelling at the TV to back the fukk up and he could have gotten the KO). Watching the Brook-Porter highlights gave me a little pause because I forgot how much Brook was tying up on the inside. He did the same vs. GGG and that is a great way to mess his rhythm up, he hates being held inside.
- Lol at fighters now calling GGG out. For the folks saying GGG doesn't want Jacobs, might want to fact check. GGG has said he would fight Jacobs, it has been Jacobs saying he isnt quite ready yet. A fall fight would be great. Hope that rumor of Jacobs wanting $5 million isn't true. That fight probably isn't worth a combined purse of $5 million.
- In the past couple of days GGG has said he is going to start calling BJS out more because the 4th belt is important to him. Does this make that fight more possible?
- He also said he will call Canelo out less because he doesn't believe Canelo wants to fight and he will be ready when Canelo wants it. He even said that he sparred with Canelo in 3 camps and knows Canelo can't beat him, so that is why he told Canelo to just give him his belt.
- At first I felt really disappointed and that Brook and his team quit, but if he broke his eye socket I am off that 100%. Guys should fight through adversity, but I don't not ever want to see anyone be permanently hurt.
- In many ways this fight may be beneficial to GGG. Fought on a big stage, wasnt the crowd favorite, and faced some adversity/criticism. He just needs to take care of whatever it was that seemed to sap his energy.
- And GGG haters need to remember to take a step back and remember there is a difference between logical stans (coli regulars) and the fukktards who jump in a stan with no sense. GGG is human, he is beatable...so is every fighter. I just hope GGG can land a big fight vs. BJS, Jacobs, Canelo, or maybe Eubanks to keep the #BigDramaShow momentum going.
