who has he fought to make you think that?

A better question is, who do you want him to fight before you call him legit?

You realize that everyone of note is ducking him.

Everyone wants him to fight ward, but ward hasn't fought himself in forever, not to mention ward is significantly bigger.

That's like knocking Floyd for not fighting ggg. It's a ridiculous premise. Ggg is way bigger than Floyd and would likely manhandle him.

you seen GGG"s amateur record bruh. :whoo:

If you know anything about how win/loss records are kept in the amateurs (that don't involve national, international, regional, olympic or world tournaments) you would take whatever they say his amateur record is with a grain of salt. The only amateur fights you ever really need to pay attention to, are the ones that are documented in international or regional tournaments. And he wasn't really an extrodinarily dominant amateur like Rigo or Loma...maybe not even on Solis or Povetkin's level as an amateur. He came up short in a few international & regional competitions.

I'm not going off win/loss, he bested some top tier dudes in the amateurs.

They say that GGG gotta spar god damn heavyweights cuz no one remotely close to his weight class can handle the power. And even scarrier, no one close to his weight class can even hurt him or get him to respect the power so he gotta bang and train with heavyweights!

:damn:

don't put too much into a sparring video. thats like watching the spurs lose a preseason game and then saying they garbage. you know that amir khan used to smoke manny pacquiao at the wildcard gym right. i guess that means that amir would KO manny and that amir is waaaay better than pacquiao. cman bruh. :rudy:

Good posts but as you can see, this is where Im confused about his supporters. You say he only spars against HWs and we should respect him for that. OK cool. But then a video surfaces of him sparring against a past prime Shane that looks 15-20 lbs smaller than him. On the video he is out muscled, out classed and gassed after 12 minutes. Then you say don't worry about sparring. Add that to him not beating anyone as a pro and already being at the peak years as a boxer in terms of age. Can you see why there are doubters of his? I could be wrong and he could be the next great, but I just don't see it yet.

thats fair to say that you don't believe hes great, or his resume is great.

im jus saying, don't blame GGG for that.

everone ducking him. hes in a thin division.

GGG has done exactly what he was supposed to do up to this point in his career. They have put progressively better gatekeepers in front of him, and he has absolutely demolished them (Just as he was predicted to). So GGG has done his part of the bargain. in order to b an all timer, and really get respect, i totally agree with you he gotta defeat some higher calibur fighters. But thats not really on GGG. its not liek the floyd argument, where ppl can arguably say taht floyd has avoided the best competition in their prime.

GGG simply has NO ONE legit he could beat other than ward. ANd no one can see that fight happening for so many reasons. maybe quillin or something liek that? iono, his pickins are pretty slim TBH.

i think when he retires he'll be one of those fighters ppl will always wonder: "man i wonder how good he really could have been if he had challenges."

also, for what its worth, i think he would absolutely demolish cotto, sergio, canelo, and obv floyd. but i wont give him credit for that cuz he is "bigger" than them. thats my 2 cents.

GGG has Great footwork, his movement,shifting/cutting corners off are top notch.

Ands its not dudes fault theyre trying for the BIG fights....but either shyt falls through or boxers make excuses.

Fight could've went either way...theoretically, Dirrell could be 2-0 against GGG in the am's. :ehh:

Close no doubt.

But I just point to his amateur pedigree for everyone that says he's all hype or manufactured. Dudes a legit dangerous top tier fighter. His amateur fights show he is technically sound, and we have all seen what he does to the gatekeepers they have been throwing at him.

I mean theoretically, who can he even fight at this point to elevate his status? Ward? Kid chocolate?

from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
:krs: what a bum. Could only land a jab here and there, no power shots landing. 30-27 Shane with the W.

Is this some kind of ploy because cameras were there? How is a washed Mosley way stronger than him? GGG was getting folded up and gassed after 12 minutes. Couldn't even break a clinch. Hopefully they did that on purpose
:what: Dawg... they are sparring. Its not a real fight
