Canelo has every skill to beat him but not everyone can be Roy Jones. Well no one can be Roy Jones...lol. But anyhow..if Canelo loses and he damn sure acts like his promoter kept him from resolving this fight a lot earlier than this, I wonder if he'll ever be the same again.Facts....
Triple G sparring cruiserwieghts ?
While canelo sparring Mario Lopez
Worst boxing related forum on the internet...I have 50 posts total there in 2 years. I just pop in every now and then to troll all the racist cacs. told em ward would knock kov out in the rematch and they were fuming. shytting on their great white hypes is guaranteed to have em in their feelings. just look at my rep
Hence why we call them170 pounds 30 days out huh? Who was saying GGG couldnt have made 168 to fight SOG? Asking for a friend
He was smart, he knew that canelo fight would come around.170 pounds 30 days out huh? Who was saying GGG couldnt have made 168 to fight SOG? Asking for a friend
He could have come down any time to fight Canelo though. He should have been at 168 at least 3 years ago. He is clearly draining himself to get down to 160. He was around 172 at the 30 day mark for Rubio and Murray. He was smart, he knew that canelo fight would come around.
He would have made peanuts at 168, also he's trying to get all the belts and break Hopkins record.
I'm sure if u were triple g u would have done the same thing.
The max allowable is 176 right? I think they have a 10% window?Canelo is supposedly at 175 right now

But at 168 there were
Ward
Degale
Dirrell (beat in '04 Olympics)
Dirrell
Groves
Eubanks
For the record, I only think he feared SOG but its interesting he never moved up

Canelo is not fighting for that belt so he can be at whatever wieght he wants. The max allowable is 176 right? I think they have a 10% window?
@GzUp is correct. Canelo isnt fighting for the WBC belt which has the 10% 30-day weigh in. He did say that he was going to agree to the IBF rehydration terms which is 10 pounds over max on fight day morning. This was the one Jacobs blew off. At this point Canelo has said he will do it.The max allowable is 176 right? I think they have a 10% window?
He could have still had the Canelo fight at anytime if the fight was to be held at 160 like it is. If he's a natural middleweight, it shouldn't be a problem to go back down. Plus a win or two over some of the top 168ers would have taken this fight to new heights interest wise. Maybe they wouldn't be playing second fiddle to the 8/26 circus. He's been camping out at 160 for what, 10 plus years? And the division isn't even stacked. I thought Ward also offered a scrap at 164.GGG always said that he would struggle to make 154 or as I like to say the Canelo weight of 155. On top of that he said he would only attempt to go that low if he ever got a fight with Mayweather.
His goal was always to unify the Middleweight division and then move up in weight.
Plenty of chances at 168, like what exactly?
-2 to 3 years ago or so he signed a contract to fight Chavez at 168. Chavez pulled out due to his own problems with his promoter Bob Arum.
-He tried to fight Froch a couple different times, neither time Froch took the fight and retired the last attempt instead. No one's fault, just didn't work out and Froch called it a day.
-Ward is the only possible chance you can speak of but that was a whacky situation since the window of opportunity was very small. Roc Nation contacted K2 shortly after they signed to fight Lemieux with the expectation of fighting for the WBC belt shortly after (they correctly assumed that would be Canelo). Ward wanted to sign a deal for a year or more out, the problem is Golovkin had Lemieux on tap already (Roc Nation claims they didn't know Golovkin already signed the contract) and was mandatory to the WBC and figured they'd get Canelo if not immediately after Lemieux than the fight after. They weren't going to miss out on a Canelo fight which again they thought was going to happen, so of course K2 turned down that funky offer. Ward announced the very next day he was campaigning at 175 lol so that was the Window of opportunity - 24 hours. Let's also not forget before GGG was mandatory to the WBC, that Golovkin and HBO wanted a Ward fight, at 168 and Ward was interested since he was fighting court battles and didn't fight. Timing wasn't right in either case but if you want to blame Golovkin than you have to blame Ward as well.
