to be fair Cotto is a lot more cautious and slippery than Golovkin, Cotto overall has a nicer defense

Golovkin is a better fighter than that version of Cotto don't misunderstand me but Golovkin is better at other things, unlike Cotto he's gonna be there to be hit.
canelo has no excuse that he didn't stop cotto, cotto is there to be hit. Canelo just couldn't do it.

No he is not there to be hit

opponents who were there to be hit usually got topped by Canelo. Kirkland, Smith, Angulo, Josesito Lopez... all got stopped
Chavez didn't but Chavez is a natural smw with a strong chin and it took a powerful 175 pounder to stop him. With that said he was clearly shook of Canelo's power, he went survival mode in the first round and Canelo pretty much had to beg him to lead an offense finally.

THAT Cotto loses EASILY to Jacobs imo.
Daniel Geale who was regarded as a top 3-4 mw :mjlol: when GGG fought him got lumped by Cotto in the exact same fashion in the exact same round. No disrespect to Golovkin cause he's still a great champion of his era but that really shows how weak this mw division was the whole time. Jacobs and Golovkin are the only ones who belong in the world elite from that generation of middleweights. It got better in the recent 1-2 years though and it keeps getting stronger.

Breh boxers have never had any problems to hit cotto, slow ass margarito had no problem hitting him. Canelo should have stopped him, those are just excuses.

Canelo also should have stopped Chavez, u don't need to knock someone out to stop someone. He couldn't do what Mosley did to margarito. Canelo couldn't throw hard enough punches for the ref to stop it.

Why would triple g easily stop cotto but canelo can't?

that's a different thing again... Margarito was a high volume pressure fighter Cotto actually moved nicely at the beginning but Margarito overwhelmed him

Canelo is a counter puncher first he likes if opponents get at him, he doesn't really like to lead the action although he can solve it if he really has to, see the Lara fight

saying that Golovkin won't get stopped is okay, but it's strange to me how some of you downplay Canelo's power

someone who did things like these:

so... someone who did those definitely HAS power
It's debatable whether it will be enough to stop GGG or not but it ill hurt Golovkin I can guarantee that to you
If you think Golovkin just gonna steamroll Canelo like he'd be Brook you're setting yourself up for a disappointment

Breh Canelo was putting pressure on cotto, those combos were just not enough. Even Floyd had cotto hurt from a counter upper cut.

chavez was there to be stopped, Canelo just didn't have the power to do so, let's be honest here.

Kirkland was knocked out my ished or whatever his name is. Dropped by a jab too.

Khan cmon, u serious?

Smith? Is that his name?.. the body shot was nice but smith just looked weak and not strong at all.

Lopez, another mismatch. 147 pounder that had no business in there.

If he would have knocked out Andrade, charlo, big live dogs at 154 then I would find that very impressive.

ok whatever we gonna see

I just don't get it how anyone can say Canelo hasn't got at least decent-good power you're out there making it out like he would be the Mexican Paulie Malignaggi whose shots just gonna bounce off of Golovkin's body and head

lol nah breh.

He has good power for 154 but he LOOKS like he should have more power. I just think his power is overrated.
