Overall, most slaves were probably treated humanely. It just makes sense to do as such.

However, I am certain that slave offspring, workers who no longer could carry their weight, women who could no longer bear kids, etc, etc, etc, were made examples out of and used for entertainment in the most inhumane way possible

Tariq Nasheed does have a tendency to throw certain individuals under the bus from time to time, but his overall analysis on this particular matter IMO is accurate!

Dude was on point I listened to it. All the stuff he said about QT and his relationship with black and white fans of his is gospel. To the characters and the hidden messages within the movie. A lot of people can't think deep enough past what they see with their eyes.Their were so many subliminal messages and QT was fully aware of that. A lot of white people love this movie and so do a lot of black people. QT knows how to play on the mindsets of both sides. He did it well with this movie.

So what?

Good God you racist sh!tbags get on my nerves.

How can a white man properly and accurately direct black people's feelings/emotions about slavery? :what:

It's not about being racist. That's just the truth. No white man is going to accept the story of a white man's "troubles" being told from the view of a black man and take such seriously. Black people are the only people who clamor over white people telling and directing their stories.

The acting is horrible throughout that whole joint. :heh: Props for brutality and gore. Everything else is pretty shytty.

It's not about emotions and feelings. It's about depicting slavery as accurately as possible based on primary sources, with some room for creative lisence. It's brutal because its accurate.

It didn't focus on the slaves "feelings" because that wasn't the point. The one time they did interview a slave it made for a pretty funny, and thought provoking scene:

We don't "need" another slavery movie. Unless it's about Nat Turner, I don't want to see shyt else about the slave trade/maafa.

How about a movie depicting what we were looooong before slavery? You know, like building civilisations in Africa and around world and all that?

I'd like to see a black version of the movie Hero, for example. Why not something like that instead? Even on a smaller level....just anything dammit.

If it's not about feelings and emotions then why make the movie in the first place? That's what movies are about fool.

Dude was depicting slaves happy and smiling breh. :skip: As willing and enjoyed participants. And your dumb ass is wondering why black people ain't rockin' with it besides you and some other foolish people just waiting for this "real" depiction of slavery. I'm guessing in y'all minds slaves were happy about the shyt. And that's your idea of "real" or whatever.

Not to mention the dude you are praising is a known racist.

Suddenly you're an expert on film theory? :what:

If you think slaves were walking around frowning all the time you're mistaken. Plenty of them were cool with their station in life. I know it's tough to stomach, but not every slave was a righteous freedom lover, plenty were virtuous slaves. The movie shows plenty of slaves not satisfied with their condition as well. The clip I posted was a bit of comic relief.

I'm not wondering about anything. Of course a lot of black people aren't going to want to see an accurate depiction of slavery. It's tough to stomach.
