I can't speak for every Jet fan, but I've seen teams win without having the best running game. I've seen teams succeed with an awful defense. I've seen teams have one really good WR and shyt else at the position and still do well. I've seen teams with with bad O-Lines. That has to do with the QB being good enough to overcome such things. Fez can't. Now, are the other issues on this team a problem? Absolutely, and Tannenbaum deserves to lose his job over it and hopefully he will. That doesn't mean the team needs to start over around Mark. The payoff to doing that isn't there. The difference between the other problems on this team and Mark is that we all know those are problems that need to be addressed and will be addressed. When is it time to cut bait? Do we have to give him 4 more years to figure it out?
Nobody wants Tebow though. Jets fans really would have McElroy. The guys here that want Tebow only want Tebow for the fukkery that will follow. Tebow just gets Sanchez out of the mix and I can live with that. However, the only true Tebow backer on the Jets is the owner, so the possibility of getting a different QB is there if Tebow's starting. The staff won't even entertaining benching Fez at the moment.
As for the team, you're right. They haven't lost a game they were supposed to win, they haven't won a game they were supposed to lose. They are where they're supposed to be. My problem is that this team needs to not be there and must make changes. I even said this year around draft time, the Jets have more holes than they can fix in a year. It takes time. It'll take a new GM, a new coaching game plan and internal development to the young guys. Waiting on Sanchez to get better just doesn't seem worth it.
