This is what I think will end up happening. Key word I think!

I work at a relatively nearby hospital and have been talking with people.

She will not face criminal charges, no doctor is intentionally pulling a baby’s head off. Apparently the baby got stuck and she attempted a desperate maneuver to try and save the child’s life. This birth was complicated apparently. We don’t have enough info to try her in the court of public opinion. If she charted everything as she was supposed to, her license will be in tact.

What the hospital and staff did in the aftermath is absolutely grounds for a lawsuit however. Then they sent the baby to the morgue like they weren’t going to see it in two pieces. Makes no sense.
How they handled the aftermath should be a grounds for her to lose her license. She should’ve briefed the family right away.

Shoulder dystocia does require some force but those injury’s seems like it was an excessive. There’s certain maneuvers to try and then you have to be like eff that and go to emergent c-section.

1. So I’m hearing they stopped her from speaking to the family. Hospital brass got involved

2. That very maneuver is what she attempted. I’m not an OB GYN, but the mother actually probably should’ve just had a c section…we don’t know what the conversation was like. But ya the doctor did attempt to save the baby and it just didn’t go to plan to put it mildly :mjcry:

I'm not an OB either but have talked to enough through the years that I can't fathom why a c section was not tried prior to this point unless the patient was adamant about a vaginal birth and even then the OB should've just told her it's c section or high likely hood of a dead infant...

I just can't rap my head at how it got to that point...

how bout this: since Georgia wants to have strict anti-abortion laws handicapping a mother's decision, this incident should be considered negligent homicide. a full-term baby was killed during your procedure because of negligence, throw the doc and the nurses in prison :manny:. we can't have it one way and not the other

So sad. I know it could have been a bad surgeon. But from being at the hospital with my wife each time for our 2 kids, it’s a s fact that black women really are treated a lot harsher in hospitals. Leads to a lot of fatalities. A lot of literature on this going back a lot time ago. Always treated like they don’t experience pain and deliveries are less careful than how white women are handled. I specifically remember a nurse rolling her eyes the morning when my wife gave birth , when she was asking for pain relief.
