Karl isn't your normal coach. He coached GP and Kemp, becoming the first coach to lose to an 8th seed. Made the NBA finals once and would proceed to live off that his entire coaching career
He coached Ray, Cassell, and Big Dog when he was with the Bucks. Dude had all the power in the world there as a coach and he made one ECF, shyt talked Ray Allen when he was traded, and imploded
He goes on to inherit Carmelo and the Nuggets where he makes it out of the 1st round once and shows his coaching ineptitudes (unable to draw up an inbound play. etc) until he's mercifully put down after winning COTY and losing to Steph and the baby Warriors
Then he goes to the Kings and decides to be a full on menace to society

but what’s his post-Jordan excuse? A lot of these slightly non mediocre coaches get job after job on the strength of being privileged CACs and then when they STILL don’t win they have no issue dishing out blame to the players.

But the blame has to be universal and when has he blamed himself. We all know Carmelo got in his own way MANY times and went after the bag instead of what mattered for his teams. But George Karl is trying to play the vindictive senile martyr who was consumed by a roster of selfish players.

I haven't followed this thread but when you see Carmelo interact with his son..or when you see Kenyon Martin with his son and the fact his son is in the league...and they are both very supportive father's.... It makes me pause. Either the comments about how they were weren't true or they broke the cycle. So I'm on their side and not george karls

He's a former North Carolina coach, am I right? Those type of coaches used to get a coaching gig off that alone. You coach for a well known university, the doors are open for you.

He doesn't even have a Jordan excuse though. Sonics used to kill Rockets in the playoffs, they had a chance to win it all in 94 when they finished 1st in regular season, but then blew it all to a Denver Nuggets squad, unbelievable. Even next year he lost to Van Exel, Jones Lakers. This is a team that had no problems beating Rockets or Jazz in the playoffs but couldn't handle inferior teams with no superstar.
