I swear George hit him with an uppercut and joe was airborne like 1.5 seconds and came down with the Holy Ghost. Never seen anything like it since.Joe kept getting up...
One of the GOAT documentaries ever. The scene when the Diaspora and the Motherland got into a collective jam session was just powerful....
Even the irony of this fight, Zaire where America/Belgium/CIA backed Mobutu murdered Patrice Lumumba and was stealing millions of Congo’s dollars playing host to one of the great figures of the diaspora at that time.
This fight was legendary brehs. Crazy to think that this and both Ali/Fraizer fights was within this time period. That’s hella damage to be taking.

ron was already old by that fight..he was like 35 and still gave foreman hell
with frazier id say the first fight with ali took it out of him..that was peak frazier..the title defenses after were victory laps until foreman beat him
