Its amazing that.someone with the notoriety of Big George is underrated, but somehow he is. I give major props to Ali for his amazing, career defining victory, but he definitely.didnt wanna run it back and.for good reason..

Foreman made a ton of excuses for Zaire. Being drugged, the ropes, the ref, etc....He claimed he learned to accept the loss, but in his autobiography By George which came out like 20 years later, he repeats the theories and actually claims “I was about to knock Ali out but I got distracted because I saw my friend in the audience rooting for Ali and by the time I got over it, the time had passed”.

Foreman just got outsmarted and Ali had an inhuman ability to absorb body shots (watch Manila a year later).

The revisionist history talks about Ali just tiring Foreman, but Ali was landing clean shots all fight long. He was landing throughout the first when he was moving more, then went to the ropes in the 2nd. Foreman had little respect for his power and fought dumb and kept carelessly coming forward and eating clean straight shots throughout.
