Sony cant force a developer to not put those features in their own game, so it makes the most sense to allow them to do what they want to do with Their game and if it destroys them, thats what the market dictates.

There will be some sort of DRM on the PS4 to allow it if the Publisher wants it.

There's no way EA would drop it online passes just for the XB1. There will be something in place to allow publishers to have something on the PS4. As long as it's not on the system end, we'll have to live with it.

How it's implemented on the PS4 will be key. Seeing as how you need an internet connection to even play your Xbox One game over at a friends house is dumb enough, if Sony allows some sort of system to just to be able to play the game without requiring an internet connection will be a win for them.

The one ace Sony still has in their pocket is the 24 hour online check.
