First off, I'm disapointed that @VictorVonDoom would dap up this post, we may have personality clashes but I never thought he was intellectually dishonest (though I guess BN vs. TUH is probably entertaining).

The man can't have an opinion?

Really John Yoo? You once again prove you know very little about people, I'm beginning to think I overestimated your intelligence (that is real talk from me since you seem to want it). Go sit down. Secondly, my principles are nearly identical to VVD and most of this board on all of these issues so if my principles are garbage then I guess a lot of people's principles are garbage.

Nah, your principles are garbage. You go way beyond others here. The sad thing is, and the reason I bring up your future profession and John Yoo is because that's exactly the type of lawyer you will be. You'll get hired by some Democrat, and you'll be writing memos to twist the law while breaking laws.

Go look at SOHH, I was you. I grew up. You miss the forest for the trees. Your intransigence is not strength. It is weakness. AND if you were so happy about your major you want not be on the campus asking about whether or not you need to go get an MBA :childplease: (yeah I had to toss that shot in). :umad:

I asked about an MBA because my degree allows me to create and innovate things that go directly into MY pocket, so I wanted to expand my knowledge of business. Make no mistake, I have already created my own business where I created the product, and I haven't even graduated yet. An MBA is a side issue that has nothing to do with my current major.

You're mad at me because I have a systematic way of viewing things that is superior to your dipping, posturing and dodging? Because I've studied MLK's Letter from Birmingham jail and it is my favorite piece of writing in principle and design, the work of Charles Hamilton Houston, and because I idolize Jack Greenberg and Bryan Stevenson? People who actually did something using the courts and aren't some ex-military guy who killed people for a living who is now trying to lecture me on morals.

Don't see how any of this is relevant and I think I've been honest in saying that what I did was morally wrong behavior.

I can't believe I wasted my time, don't worry I won't do it again.

You said that about 10 posts ago. You'll come back for more.

breh my side and aaron's side lost eldred. we lost that damn case. it doesn't matter what breyer thought. 99% of people in america think breyer is a toaster brand. SOPA wasn't stopped by abstruse legal arguments, it was stopped cause people got off their backsides and called their representatives en masse. Things like the image I posted on a forum are not legal briefs, they are made to lay the situation out starkly using a reshareable image. If you look at most of the serious writing on Aaron's death it makes the same point about social choices. Was it really worth snuffing out such a bright light? I don't know what you mean by "nothing illegal about it", but I hope you're not saying that determined investigators couldn't have nailed any of the banks  there is reams and reams of data to indict many of those players on especially in terms of ratings agencies. Heck, but never mind that. How about HSBC? They literally uncovered actual illegal activity but declined to pursue charges just a few days ago

No, there is plenty of information out there to get the banks. SOPA was not stopped just because people called their representatives en masse. I have always said that there are two components to every change more often than not. The legal argument and the policy argument. You cannot downplay the role of people like Laurence Tribe in informing the public, the media, and others explaining the actual affect of specific sections of SOPA. It strengthens the case and clarifies what is at stake. Those arguments play a role whether it is in the public domain or in the courts.

But lastly, the point is that you have large holes in your argument. The people who handle IP cases and who handle financial cases are not the same people. You can't use one branch forcefully applying laws and another being lax as an indictment on the entire DOJ. It may be, but not necessarily. My point is simple, the critique should be more narrowed. For the record, I thought HSBC should've gone down. I worked on teams of prosecutors this summer, we lost a case like that (I was moved to a different division afterwards so I didn't get to work on many other white collar cases) and it stung. It wasn't for lack of effort.

@Type Username Here, I hope you don't think I read that nonsense. I was just giving you a PSA, do what you want with it. Just remember, you're the guy who backed down when I said make the thread about the feasibility of government and institutions and we could debate it out there. shyt you could do it old KTL style and set up a BarNone vs. TUH thread. But you'd rather try to use ad hominem attacks against me because you lack substance. Make the thread or attach yourself to @LegendNas or someone else on here who legitimately has high expectations for Obama and stop making veiled, bitter and attention-craving posts directed at me every since I hurt you feelings in October.

LOL@ a guy calling me John Yoo while he also claims that all of HL supports me and daps up all my posts, so are we all John Yoo...don't answer...I won't be reading, I'll wait until I see that thread title.

I'm not even following this shyt for real. I just dapped it because I kinda called him on something I perceived and he explained what he meant...not that I agree with him.

Y'alls little "beef" is pretty lame to be honest. You might as well both say fukk the attempts at intellectual oneupsmanship and just start viciously clowning each other.

It is lame, and I called it off in PMs, but here is with veiled attempts at me for no apparent reason. I can't clown him in HL, I don't think a mod should do that. I called him out and said make the debate thread old KTL style. He won't bite though :manny:

Sure, as you saw in my post that linked the volokh analysis I said something similar. .. and there's a few more sides depending on the situation

You can't use one branch forcefully applying laws and another being lax as an indictment on the entire DOJ.

it's a more macro critique of the imperatives and incentives we follow as a society. you can look at the outcome of a system and determine that its behaviors are out of whack. if there are more congressional hearings on sports steroids usage than on childhood nutrition issues you can say even if they're separate issues involving separate systems the priorities of the country are misplaced

my problem with the DOJ in particular in this caset is a very common critique: (1) prosecutors looking for "wins" to gain publicity and career status, sometimes into politics (2) prosecutors seeking cruel convictions instead of justice and (3) intimidating people into accepting plea deals almost all of the time, which is basically how the system is run now

This is fair, I agree.

You've become a psycho who shouts out accusations without proof and contradicts yourself. You weren't too happy when I and @daze23 said that the constitution should probably be redone in many ways, yet here you are crying about the LAW. Was, I the source of that law, no zerozero was. But that's what happens when you're perpetually angry, you can't see what's in front of you. You're forced to argue about unrelated tangents because you're unable to discuss an analyze the issue in front on you.

This "shytty lawyer" was the guy in here who said that he thought one of the interpretations of the law was wrong. The guy who is an Aaron apologist zerozero posts an article saying that I'M WRONG and you get amd at me :wtf: Somewhere in your training you never learned the cross-section between principle and rationality. You've slowly digressed into a lunatic with a short temper and obsession since October, leave the leftist and socialist arguments to @newarkhiphop he's better at it than you. You've ruined the honesty of 90% of every discussion you've participated in for about two months now.

Insert your grandstanding response here. No, I won't be responding to you on this or anymore at all, you're a lost cause. A pity.

SMH at this "lawyer to be" going out of his way to rationalize the acts of his demonic bretheren, no matter how heinous and unriteous the action. I'm sure you'll be a swell lawyer when you grow up!

Well, first off you misspelled both brethren and unrighteous in the span of one sentence. Given your track record, that's not a typo. Second, you stan Microsoft one of the main proponents of the current regime. Third, you're a 40 year old displaced and unloved nigerian with shytty sound equipment who is a faux-businessman, that abandoned the podcast because your feelings were hurt by online strangers, who is mesmerized by the words of other grown men as evidenced by your love-hate relationships with Obama, Ron Paul, Anthony Weiner, and any other establishment politician with bass in his voice and a clean pair of shoes over the span of the last 24 months (except Ron Paul's shoe game :scusthov:).

You stopped posting HL because you got your feelings hurt, then you ran to the Arcadium where people like @Jutt routinely body you even worse. :scusthov: Yeah, you're right, I'm much rather grow up to be them than an e-punching bag that's been worn out.

But I got some of that West African heritage so I still got love for you, so I went easy on you. :obamaword:
