In related cases this was slightly above what’s been giving in similar cases from what I’m seeing/reading.How can you say it wasn't "realistic" when 7-9 is what the federal sentencing guidelines say, and what the prosecution asked for?
Judges follow the federal sentencing guidelines the vast majority of the time, and in the minority of cases where they go below the guidelines, it's because the prosecution asked for a sentence below the guidelines, which wasn't the case here.
