It seems to me that we are bailing out the consequences of Trump’s tariffs. The tariffs hurt some of Trump’s base, so to make sure they don’t feel it as much, the administration gave them money. It’s kinda like buying their votes.
I think in a “normal” administration this would be a bigger deal, but with Trump, this is a minor misstep compared to the laundry list of larger Trump missteps.
Bailing out Walmart next.
