Anyone saying they need to shut down these press briefings is out htere damn mind. I don't think the reality and gravity of this situation has truly settled in yet. Trump still sees this crisis as all about himself; another simple minded political spat between himself the media and Democrats and just another opportunity to play up his public image as big daddy conservative fire brand. He doesn't get it. He's still just doing his "big bad Donald Trump" routine and expecting everything to work out for him in the end. As if this is another Mueller report/impeachment trial; something he can politicize, rile up his base and in turn his corrupted enablers, and turn into a "protect me at any cost" left-wing/fake news-right wing rivalry where the facts don't even matter anymore, so much as protecting the ego of this President and the entire conservative movement.

The man is tweeting about TV ratings during a health crisis. Ratings. He does not get it. He is a damn sociopath. He really still thinks this is all about his popularity against the media and Democrats.

The best thing these journalists and Democrats could do is continue encouraging these passive Trump rallies masquerading as public health briefings as the death toll rises. He's getting more erratic by the day. He's clearly distressed this ain't just going away in a few days, this can't be lied about according to what Trump wants to believe, can't be thrown into a political battle, every attempt he's made to turn it political or try to lie his way through it makes him look silly. And yet the man is incapable of functioning as a stable leader even in the face of this virus killing people. Still concerned with winning self-aggrandizing fights with the media and Democrats while a virus is ravaging through the country. These press briefings are nothing but an ongoing treasure trove of attack ads. Guy had to walk up to the cameras and own up (AGAIN) to his dangerous stupidity on how soon this will go on. Fauci and experts pretty much not giving a fukk about what Trump says or wants to people to believe anymore. Just revealing his self-centered incompetence more and more by the day and CANNOT even bring himself to show maturity and lay off the attacks. He will not rise to this or any occasion and covering that up so that Americans aren't being lied to and misinformed is a waste. He will misinform them from Twitter if he has to. The death toll will continue to rise, and Trump will NOT stop trying to lie and "boo hoo fake news" his way out of it, and I think the average American is tired of this now. Let the fool keep talking.

@JDiamond1
Rep. Mark Meadows will officially resign from Congress this afternoon as he prepares to become @realDonaldTrump's chief of staff, according to a Meadows aide.
Meadows has been at Trump's side for weeks now, but his first official day will be tomorrow. He will be Trump's 4th CoS.

I know South Korea better than anybody," Trump says, responding to a @Yamiche question about why U.S. is not on par, per capita, with South Korea and other countries on testing.

Spin Doctor@SpinDr

Trump said he knows South Korea better than anyone else.

Then claims that Seoul has a population of 38 million.

Seoul’s population is 10 million.
Trump just said Seoul has "38 million people" in it. That's such an oddly wrong and yet specific number, I did a google search for Seoul.

Mike Pence was left flustered when CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer confronted him about Trump’s lengthy period of downplaying the coronavirus threat, insisting the president is just an “optimistic person” and never “belittled” the crisishttps://trib.al/CiJ5ZRC
