Explain to me how the US ruined Venezuela's economy?Name another country who has ruined half of the western Hemisphere economies like the united states then want to close borders
Ruined
Cuba
Nicaragua
Venezuela
Mexico ( thank god they turning around(
Haiti
All these people are coming from these counties because the united states have ruined their ecomomy either with military interventions or sanctions
SanctionsExplain to me how the US ruined Venezuela's economy?
Contributed ≠ ruined.
The US kicked a dying horse by imposing sanctions, but the economy was already in a recession due to oil prices (the article states this). It also states that the economy couldn't recover when oil surged again because of sanctions; but, an "economic boom" in Venezuela would not improve the QoL for citizens due to rampant corruption within the incumbent regime. An obviously intelligent person wrote that article, but it's pretty biased.Obviously, Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro bear a great deal of responsibility for this recession, as their overspending and mismanagement left the country unprepared to deal with the negative terms of trade shock.
This is like saying:Contributed ≠ ruined.
The US kicked a dying horse by imposing sanctions,
Worst figure of speech in the history of America! This is like saying:
" hey man I only poisoned him, his organs could have potentially failed anyway"
so?

What about the farmers that provided the food for USAID that are either going to go under/become corporate owned/or get a bailout from our tax dollars. Youve got to start looking beyond your immediate emotional reaction to a statement
Americans in particular are sooooo myopic. Everything we do or don't do has consequences for US eventually. Anyone who has studied world history knows that when we act like isolationist and withdraw from helping, eventually we will be pulled back in one way or the other, covertly or overtly. That's the responsibility of a world power, you can't just withdraw from everything and keep your status as a world power and you lose all the benefits of being a world power as well.Exactly it's short-sighted too
Because people starving worldwide never makes it to other folks backyards
It keeps balance. Food getting cut off will lead to unrest. Folks will start wars and it will spill over.
And those farmers are going t*ts up
