So what you’re looking for is a benevolent left wing Trump or dictator?
What I'm looking for is a government that acts in the best interest of the people and doesn't use manufactured "rules" and appeals to decorum as an excuse for their inaction, sitting around like a neutered puppy while right-wing forces continue to act with impunity.

Freedom of Speech cooked I see
Literally. People talk about the first amendment when they get posts removed on twitter :russ:
Government snatching your credentials and sending you abroad because you disagreed with them? Literally free speech violation. Those fukk ass “If you dont like it then leave” dudes wont see it that way, though.

See this highlights what can only be considered naivety at this point on the part of Democrats; Republicans don't care about what he used to believe, only in what he believes now. Trump was considered a limousine liberal at one point. Vice President JD Vance was a Never Trumper. None of that matters now. As long as RFK can tow the Reich agenda these sort of "gotchas" will fall on deaf ears.
Democrats believe hypocrisy is a silver bullet. It's always the main line of attack they use against Republicans and no one except MSNBC viewers gives a shyt.

MAGA is a show. A put on. A scam. There is ZERO reason for a cabinet secretary to be dressed like this. Is she kicking in doors? No. It’s play time. No experience, no knowledge, no plan. Just look at me in my costume.

For all that talk about existential threats and the end of democracy, they all showed their ass and bent the knee when Trump won again.

They do this because they know their material interests will not be threatened in a right wing authoritarian state. It's kabuki.

I'd imagine most countries would deport you if they graciously let you in on a student visa and instead of being you know, a STUDENT, you decided to spend your time inserting yourself into their politics and protesting their governments. :yeshrug:
This is a flawed argument that ignores how this is only about punishing political dissent. Student visas don't ban political activism, and free speech protections apply to everyone in the US, not just citizens. If this were really about visas, the same logic would apply to any foreign student protesting anything, but we all know this is just selective, politically motivated enforcement handed down by the Israel lobby. People should try to justify this or shrug their shoulders over it.

We weren’t in a war with Hamas so what exactly is the legal authority?
there isn't one. they can be sent away if they participate in violent, illegal activites.

keep in mind, these kids were all doing sit ins on college lawns (where they were free to sit anyway) and protests with permits on and off campus.

this isn't new for Trump though, he targeted Iranian students from 2018 to 2020, specifically as part of the Muslim ban saga.

but none of this matters to the people kekeing and laughing in here. they'll gladly watch rights get stripped away to say "I told you so".

You need to ask yourself why throughout human history a benevolent dictator rarely if ever works out.

Our liberal form of government is superior when it works like it’s supposed to. Corruption has fukked it up though just like corruption would fukk up the benevolent dictator.

What we’re seeing is the flaw in humanity

I think we are moving to an era when trumps admin will argue that the Constitution doesnt apply to nonnationals.

Im reminded of his attempts to limit the 14th amendment from applying to noncitizens. Specifically those who are not on a permanent entry permit like a greencard in order to stop anchor babies

There is a very slim precedent for delineation between foreigner classes such as in the aftermath of the iraq war when terrorists captured and brought back to an american territory were denied human rights in military black sites and military prisons. But its very very slim precedent. But i wouldnt put it past trump's supreme court to lean into it.
