Most states already pay above the Federal minimum wage.

--crickets--
he is a hedge fund manager...
Forbes say he's worth $200 million
he could care less about the federal minimum wage

If it’s the federal minimum wage, why don’t members of Congress get $7.25 an hour for a few years.
I have a feeling they’ll change their mind.

@MN_floors
Minimum wage is meant for high-school kids. Not someone to raise a family on.

SMACKDOWN ALERT.
SENATOR BERNIE SANDERS: When so few people [like Elon Musk] have so much money and power, that is an oligarchy?
SCOTT BESSENT: I'd note that Biden gave the Presidential Medal of Freedom to people who would qualify as oligarchs [like George Soros].

Good, we don't need a Federal minimum wage.
If California wants to run up the cost of living, forcing everyone out, the rest of the Country shouldn't also suffer

The actual minimum wage is $0. Bessant was supporting American workers of all colors and nationalities when he refused support to deeply racist minimum wage laws.
This from Wiki:
"In the United States, the late 19th-century ideas for favoring a minimum wage also coincided with the eugenics movement. As a consequence, some economists at the time, including Royal Meeker and Henry Rogers Seager, argued for the adoption of a minimum wage not only to support the worker, but to support their desired semi- and skilled laborers while forcing the undesired workers (including the idle, immigrants, women, racial minorities, and the disabled) out of the labor market."
Democrats need to be made to explain their support for these systemically racist wage laws.
