Actually no he isn't, that is usually the civilians at the Pentagon who are eager for war for their own profit and benefit.

Military leaders don't have the final say so in war, just an advisory role, that includes the Joint Chiefs.

Yep, I remember when the Army Chief of Staff stated that the Iraq War would take far more troops than the White House was predicting. Bush and Rumsfield publicly contradicted him and completely ignored his advice.

I never said it. The problem is with the system and both parties which have been allowing this to happen for decades.
You can't deny people's right to political affiliation because of who they are. As much as I hate the cops it's a terrible precedent. Now you can ban police unions from donating to campaigns but that will require a new law.
It isn't a terrible precedent. You can't deny the evidence in front of you that there is a double standard in the treatment of left-leaning police brutality protesters and the right-leaning white nationalist protesters. Trump has made this country hyper-partisan. And he divides by pitting people against one another and telling police "they hate you!" To support Trump is to at bare minimum support a racist. So that will manifest itself one way or another while policing. Banning police unions from donating to campaigns is a starting point.

Trump was upset that more of the top brass at the Pentagon had not defended him in the wake of the Atlantic story and some saw his comment yesterday as a response to that. W/ @Kevinliptakcnn

Just as aides believed the story was quieting down, President Trump accused top Pentagon military leaders of being beholden to defense contractors, an astonishing comment from the President as he's trying to bolster support with those people Trump visibly distressed over Atlantic story fallout from claims he disparaged the military - CNNPolitics

Oh I know and agree about cops tactics. What's to stop Republicans from using your suggestion to outright ban women, black Americans, Asians and Hispanics from voting? Now your back at when America was 1st created. It's a terrible precedent, unconditional and the courts would throw it out or if they didn't no one but white men would be allowed to vote.
