Apparently.

When he first came to Congress, Patrick McHenry was the kind of Republican rabble-rouser who might get compared to a rabid fox — a wily politician ready to snap at any Democrat unfortunate enough to get between him and a camera.

Over the course of nearly two decades in Washington, though, McHenry matured into the sort of lawmaker who eschewed the spotlight for the proverbial smoke-filled rooms where legislative deals could be made. And so, when an actual rabid fox bit him last year, McHenry didn’t try to use it to garner sympathy or raise his profile. Instead, he confessed it only months after the fact, during a more than 10-hour Financial Services Committee markup, to illustrate his desire to work with Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., on legislation to limit the inclusion of medical debt on credit reports after he received debt collection notices on the rabies shots.

“I’m running in front of the Capitol right by the Native American Museum, 5:30 in the morning, and I’m wearing, well, running gear … I wish to be honest, running tights,” McHenry said. “This thing catches me in the corner of my eye, and I kind of run a little faster — obviously not fast enough — and it nips me in the calf. … I yelled another F-word, not ‘fox,’ and so there I am, screaming … at 5:30 in the morning.”

McHenry said he told his wife, who didn’t believe him, but refrained from going public with the story after seeing the attention Rep. Ami Bera, D-Calif., received after suffering a similar ordeal.

“I didn’t want to be in the press, and I didn’t want my Wikipedia page to say, ‘And he got bitten by a rabid fox,’” he said.

It’s funny because Romney is on the low the most functional Republican they had in a long time. I think he would have defeated Gore, Hillary or Biden had he faced them in an election. He just ran into Obama who was the best politician the Dems had since JFK.

I think he would have been a better president than Bush and definitely a better president than Trump. He voted to impeach Trump and look at Trump now.

So as he shyts on these people, it’s not just jokes he’s a serious person outside of politics and one of the last serious Republican politicians. The fact there is a feud in the house, Mitch is old as shyt in the senate, Trump is going to jail, and Romney who is the best potential president (based on character) they have in their own party is just shytting on them tells you all you need to know about the Republicans right now.
True. My respect for Romney always gets capped when I remember he still followed the company line and voted with them/Trump for everything else including SC judges and other bullshyt that hurt people yesterday, is hurting people today and will hurt people in the future. At the end of the day he is still party over country, even if he is more willing to shyt on them because he’s old and has no higher aspirations any more.

He is still a Republican and you’re right he was a coward in a lot of ways. However, at least I could see how he would fit what you would expect a Republican president to look like if they actually lived the shyt they say they are about.

Meanwhile the last two idiots to come out of that party as presidents are among the two worst presidents the country has ever had and definitely the worst two since Nixon.

Romney shytting on them is just another sign they ain’t shyt and are fracturing.

I wonder if Dems will vote in favor of Emmer. Reports said they view him as easier to negotiate with than McCarthy. Plus he supports Ukraine aid and didn't vote to overturn to 2020 election.

There was talk about some Dems voting "present" to lower the threshold but I don't know about all that. Let the GOP figure out their mess.
