At Rep. Glenn Ivey’s (D-MD) townhall, an attendee shouts at the lawmaker.

“You’re talking about voting, the House is on fire. It is not business as usual. It’s not….this is bullshyt”

Ivey’s office said they did not escort the woman out, but to check for a medical crisis.

I was there. She was right. Forget decorum. Questions asked about immediate concerns were met with 2026 election talk. We all know we need more Dems to win in 2026. But many people, myself included, will not make it to the voting booth due to the hardships we're enduring now.

I love Marylanders..sounds like the town hall in PG county was lit last night. People are tired of the status quo, even true blue Dems have had it and losing patience.

New: Rep. Glenn Ivey (Md.) tonight became the first Democratic member of Congress to come out & suggest Schumer step down as minority leader:

“I respect Chuck Schumer. I think he had a great, long-standing career… but I’m afraid that it may be time for the Senate Democrats to get a new leader”

Anger boiled over at Ivey, who once worked for Tom Daschle, at tonight’s town hall in PG County

It wasn’t simply about not *doing* enough to fight Trump, but about matching the tenor

“You speak so calmly and we are so afraid, we’re all so angry,” one woman complained. “It creates this feeling, ‘Oh, this is just the same old, same old.’”

“I know everyone’s angry right now, I’ve got two of my kids, they’re getting laid off too, so I get it, but the only way to fix that is to take the House back and hope the courts keep doing the right thing,” Ivey told the crowd

'Shame!' Republican deluged with boos as he urges town hall attendees to 'remain calm'

Yet another Republican congressman found himself under fire at a contentious town hall event, with one constituent standing up and saying "shame" and attendees raining down boos.

Rep. Mike Flood held a town hall on Tuesday — which Republican leadership has advised against amid President Donald Trump's effort to drastically shrink the federal government — in Columbus, Nebraska, which sits in Platte County, a county that swung for Trump with 55% of the vote.

"I believe that town halls are an important part of the process," Flood told constituents in his opening remarks. "It's democracy. It's how we communicate with each other."

"Any idea that Social Security is in peril or somehow in jeopardy is absolutely false," he said, as constituents continued to shout back. He received a chorus of yells as he said the federal government's $36 trillion national debt is "not going away" unless Medicaid and Medicare are dealt with.

"Let's remain calm," he urged constituents.

"If you're going to ask me a question, let me answer the question," he said before scolding his constituents for holding up the procession of questions.

Later in the town hall, Flood received a chorus of boos as he insisted there are "two ways out of this mess" — cutting spending and growing the economy.

"When you cut spending, that means making difficult decisions," he said. The crowd unleashed even louder boos as Flood said he supports Trump's efforts.

At another point in the town hall, a constituent gave Flood a public dressing down.

"The rest of us probably not going to be so pleasant," the woman warned, as she launched into her remark. "First of all, I just want to say shame. I want to say shame for your comment. Your quote that you said, 'President [Volodymyr] Zelensky's approach today was disrespectful to President Trump and undermines the goal of bringing peace.' So shame on that."

After the crowd erupted in applause, the woman continued her scathing takedown, demanding to know "who's lying?" — the veterans groups who say they're underfunded and understaffed or Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency.
