Hes trying to move to private company wealth, he hates that his wealth is tied in with the public. It's why he's all in on government contracts thru his private companies. Additionally why I suspect he paid was it financial times to estimate the value in xai so that he could take out a loan for it against the outstanding twitter loans

Outside of buy, borrow, die he can't get that wealth out of Tesla without creating taxable events. The majority of his wealth will always be stuck in Tesla shares unless he wants to pay his fair share.
