Between those two , they definitely blackballed and stifled a lot of careers in NY hip hop as gatekeepers, neglected the talent among the youth while the south and the west coast ogs embraced the new wave of talent and gave them legs to stand on .. I agree with the premise but gene didn’t explain it well
Based of what though? Conspiracy theories?

You know what’s crazy

If Jay were to do a feature with a young NY rapper yall would consider him “riding their wave”

:mjlol:

But when he doesn’t put them on songs or gives them a verse he’s secretly “hating on them and stifling their progress behind scenes”

I dont think they were given a assignment.

But given these two personality traits they have shown over the decades I can def see them intentionally ignoring/not cosigning/ putting younger artist on and in a position to blow or surpass em. They like being the big dogs of the east.

These two definitely aint no Dr. Dre or Baby ill tell ya that much :pachaha:

I'm not buying it. By 2000, that Bad Boy shine was dimmed, and the roster was depleted. Puff badly needed an East Coast rapper to push and revamp that label. Looking back, it's easy to see why the East Coast fell off, there's no need for conspiracies.

The thing that I find interesting with this is that Jay-z name is slowing creeping into these hating ass blog interviews. We've heard just about every Puffy story that there possibly could be, so I'm guessing Jay-z is next.

Nah, it's just that they have a list of keywords that get the most views. Once the Diddy keyword became oversaturated it basically ended up paying less. So move on to the next. Just smart analytics
