Russia got warned ahead of time and turned a blind eye. Russia just stated their support for Assad is not unconditional. US did targeted strikes in response to a blatant war crime. I don't think this incident escalates tensions at all with Russia.

Essentially. I wouldn't be surprised if Russia pulls a scheme where they will ground all Syrian jets and say they will do the bombing. And with that send more air assets to Syria to aid the Assad regime. And they offer to rebuild the base. Trump will not go further. This was just a symbolic gesture.

Hes right i wouldnt say months but the Syrian governemnt has been kicking IsIs ass they now control large swaths of Syria add in the Iraqis who have Isis against the Wall in Mosul we were looking at real progress.

The jihadis just launched a desperate counter attack that, netted them a Pyrrhic victory all the US had to do was link up with Russia continue their massive Air/Artillery campaign, let Syrian forces continue to grind out Isis put checkpoints on the borders, to stop people from coming in, surround Isis and devastate them, but the US wont do that because they are supplying Isis thru Turkey,and The downfall of Syria is what those in power REALLY want.
