Gangster rap dying is a very rare positive thing about todays era.

and I hope it continuous that way :birdman:

I know what we've got now isn't the best but it shall evolve, develop and become greater. Artists like Joey Bada$$, Kendrick and the rest of Black Hippie to name but a few are all the new wave and I like the way this is heading.

I don't wanna hear about guns, popping people and selling drugs to self righteous people. Gangster rappers aint shyt, the day we stopped glorifying these a$$holes was a good day. :ahh:

Chief Keef and them are gonna do everything in their power to change this.

Besides, you just KNOW a new 50 Cent/DMX is in the weeds waiting to come out.

I don't know how positive it is, cause gangsters are still very alive and well.
Rap doesn't reflect the people anymore, it reflects rappers. Maybe it's a good thing not giving these gangsters any attention. Obviously gangsta rap just talking about "i'm gonna kill you" "I make money selling coke" and all that shyt without talking about the consequences has always been wack.

By listening to commercial rap you would think that all we do is ball
Poppin molly, drinking champagne, smoking the best weed, saying fukk college and still making millions :takedat:

The black community :win:

:usure: 'Cause I haven't seen any buzz around any one that's anywhere near the subject matter that 50 and DMX was on. Keefs buzz is internet only. I'm in the UK and NO ONE knows who this guy is, people think I don't like is Ye's song.

I like all types of music but it's refreshing to have a wide variety of artist today thanks to the internet. Before the internet, the industry would hit you with a flood of what was hot at the moment. Now, even when it tries to do it the industry can't because the internet has given a lane to independent rappers.

Another way that the internet has helped lower the amount of that music is through social media. More people get exposed or can get exposed quicker so I think people are kind of forced to be themselves, at least till they distance themselves far enough from where they started.

One more factor has to be the massive amount of input suburia now has on hip-hop.

Agreed. It opened up many genres and sub-genres in Hip Hop and that can only be a good thing. Eating from the same apple all the damn time was boring, it was just constant clones of the same sagged pants a$$hole who sprayed negativity to your ears. The worst part of it all was just the huge fake gangster persona these guys put on, shyt was embarrassing and :shaq2: status.

Guys like Kanye West would've been destroyed in the mid 90s when ignorance was at its political peak.

Mom Jokes are lame take your L breh

What L? I'm not the one who stans an ex officer who took the name of a coke dealer and carved a fantasy land for his career to be relevant. My thread goes against the fake lifestyles you glorify out in the gangster capital of Toronto.

:pacspit: Shut the fukk up and go back to bed kid.
