Gangstarr: Moment of Truth

This is underrated in the sense that only Hardcore Gang Starr fans really know/appreciate this album.

I thought most hiphopheads loved it.
The Ownerz is the underrated GS album imo.

I guess I would be one of the underraters to the Ownerz, after coming up with a release of Moment of Truth, I guess I had my expectations too high..wasnt bad, but wasnt a classic to me..but thats just my opinion.

it came out when puffy n mase shiny suit sound was ruling hiphop which made the album sound fresher

A true classic man. Betrayal, Moment of Truth, Above the Clouds, Royalty, You know My Steez, Make em Pay (Krumbsnatcha had the best verse on the whole CD)

Album got gipped outta that lat 1/2 mic in the source cuz they had recently gave outlast a 5/5 for aquemeni. I just knew gangstarr was gonna get a 5/5 too, but they got robbed.

shyt was classic perhaps a top 10-15 album post Pac/Big.

this was my most anticipated album of all time. stretch & bobbito would play tracks for the first time on 89.9 and hot97. first you know my steez, then work, then above the clouds, then the you know my steez remix with lady of rage (and maybe big shug? i forget)... had everybody STARVING for that album. i must have played that album 500 times in 98. everybody at school was talking about the album for a month.

one of my fondest music memories growing up, along with getting a dubbed copy of common sense - resurrection.

Ownerz had a ton of duds, looking back that album wasnt that good. played it alot at the time because it was the first new GS in 5 years, but i only go back to 4 or 5 tracks. just about every song on MOT was great, the songwriting as well as the production
