I've stopped listening to the majority of YouTubers (cacs being the majority). Most don't know what they're talking about.

No doubt. Everybody is not equal when it comes to youtube essays or commentary, no matter the topic.

Some have just great editing skills and presentation but have very superficial analysis and content.

This was kinda the point of this thread though, try to gather the youtubers that are closer to the solid end of the spectrum, even if you don't agree with some things they say.

You mean for you or that the youtuber missed something?

Me.

Learning the "language" of games comes a lot more easily when they're specifically made to appeal to my interests, especially from a young age. The ideas of winning or conquering come more easily for MvC/MK/SF/Soul Calibur/sports games than any (possible) appeal running around in Diner Dash. It's a great video that makes you think. Puzzle games probably have more commonality to them - Peggle, Trijinx, TextTwist, Chuzzle, Zuma - because of the lack of urgency or consequences mentioned in the video.

Having someone you're dating try something like Sekiro or Dark Souls as their entry to gaming? That borders on sadism. :mjlol:

I had my girl play the original TMNT on NES. She left me the next day.

Yeah, it was a huge blindspot for me as well. Never crossed my mind. That's often the case with MoonChannel's videos, a recent one was his commentary of Japanese-Brazilian relations through videogames or why do you have to kill gods in JRPG.

As for your last sentence, some have kinda tried :pachaha:
