Yoooooo, that's crazy you would even bring that name up...my nephew has been telling me to play that game for TWO YEARS now. Ere'time I talk to him, "you play that Until Dawn yet, Unc?"

I just never really had any real interest in checking it out. Do you recommend it because of the "free choice" element?

It kinda looks like "Saw" meets "The Escape Room" in video game form, from the trailer.

I'd recommend it. Just did my first replay during Halloween week. It's campy as hell. They got a Nathan Drake rip-off in there. You should check and see if you got a free trial of PSnow. Play with headphones.

Can’t believe I had missed out on so much over the years

I’ve recently been eying RdR2 and P5R because they are both like $20 right now, but I’ve been on the fence based on the time I may have to devote to them before they really get going.
