Question:

It was never revealed who tried to kill Tyrion in the books right? I always thought it was Cersei and now the show has me suspecting it actually was Joffrey... Should I count that as canon?

I want to get some people's opinions on where this whole thing is headed. So, a couple of quick questions:

1. Who do you think are Jon Snow's real parents? Personally, I think it's obvious Lyanna Stark is his mother. I think his father is Rhaegar Targaryen. I think when Lyanna was "kidnapped" by Rhaegar, she actually ran off with him, so Robert started the war because of that. It wouldn't surprise me if Robert killed Lyanna himself, or if Ned knew all of this. :ooh: The only thing I wonder about is Jon Snow doesn't have the silver/blond hair like the other Targaryens, but maybe the Stark blood is strong.

2. Who do you think is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne? This one is too complicated for me. I think there is about 10 people who could legitimately say they should be the ruler.

3. More importantly, who do think will claim the Iron Throne in the end?
I know most people probably think it's gonna be Daenerys Targaryen, but I don't think GRM is all in to the fairy tale endings. I have a feeling something is going to happen to her dragons, and she will lose her power. I'm rolling with Jon Snow on this one. I think he has the dragon blood in him, and that's gonna have something to do with him claiming the throne. I know these theories are probably full of shyt, but :manny:

What are your predictions for how things play out over the last two books? Also, feel free to discuss other scenarios not mentioned yet.

1. I do not buy into that theory only because it seems like everyone over at the ASOIAF board just regard that as fact. I hope Martian sends a swerve and it turns out that Ned is the true father and his mother is just a nobody.

2. As Robert showed everyone might makes right and who ever can claim the iron throne is rightful ruler. Also despite Robert being a drunk he did keep the kingdom together in peace for a while.

3. In the end it is looking like Danny will claim the iron throne only because she has Dragons and also she is getting people on her side like Tyrion, Victorian (dude is a just like Karl Drago in my eyes and Danny will love that shyt) and she has Dorne who will prob join her. Also Varys pretty much destroyed the Lannister/Tyrell alliance so they no one is unified. It should be easy for her.

But we all know the real battle is at the wall and I am hoping Tormund takes out all those crows for what they did to jon snow.

Tyrion only suspected Cersi at first but he never finds out who did it in the books. And Cersi never admits it in the book so I am guessing it was Joffery as well.

Makes sense though. Joffery set alot of shyt in motion that people (namely littlefinger) took advantage of.

I like the way in the show that they littlefinger indulging his pyscho side. My guess is he going to do something to Margery that will get him set up by the Tyrells and littlefinger.

:ohhh: This made me think of something, it would be ironic if Danny, or whoever, finally wins the throne, then the Others break through the Wall, and lay waste to all of Westeros. That would be f*cked up, but who knows.

I think the north might be able to hold them back because they are the only ones who can deal with the cold. Well them and Stannis.

I know most people probably think it's gonna be Daenerys Targaryen, but I don't think GRRM is all in to the fairy tale endings. Who do you think are Jon Snow's real parents? Rhaegar and Lyanna. :birdman: GRRM swerves on that shyt I'm docking off points.

Who do you think is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne? I've been rotating peeps for that question but now I say it's whoever takes it is the rightful heir. :yeshrug: The real question is who I don't think should sit on the Iron Throne. And that's Dany Targaryen (if she remains infertile), Stannis (I don't like the religion that's following his campaign, I really hope he beats the Boltons though), and Jon Snow (:aicmon: He's got a whole different destiny. I'm sure he's coming back alive to die again at the very end of the series).

More importantly, who do you think will claim the Iron Throne in the end?
I'm one of the few who thinks the Iron Throne is going to be in the bushes by the end of the series. So no one. :manny:

What are your predictions for how things play out over the last two books? Stannis is going to die beating the Boltons. Melisandre will revive Jon Snow and he'll realize somehow he's Azor Ahai and put a cape on for the world. Because Stannis didn't follow through in taking the Iron Throne, the Iron Bank is going to Fed Ex assassins (Faceless Men involvement and Arya's return) to Westeros to create a shift on who will sit in the throne (I'm thinking an anti-dragon movement). Tyrion is gonna come back to Westeros backed by mercenaries and the Dany Gang, Lord Bronn will probably help him out in taking Casterly Rock. Selmy ain't surviving the series :manny:

Brynden Tully will show up at the Vale. Sansa is going to kill Littlefinger or set him up nasty.

There's a BWB guy that sneaked in a Frey/Lannister occupied Riverrun. There's going to be a massacre there akin to the Red Wedding headed by Stoneheart. :mjpls:

Tyrion only suspected Cersi at first but he never finds out who did it in the books. And Cersi never admits it in the book so I am guessing it was Joffery as well.

:lupe: Yeah, I'm not sure why I never suspected Joff in the books for that shyt. It really does seem like his MO since he's the one that sent the assassin after comatose Bran just off the drunken banter of his "father".

also another thought after watching the show. It seems all the priests of the lord of light has powers. What is that about?

Dragons are back, magic returned. The comet that passed was a hint on that.

1. Its a song of ice and fire....Jon is the ice, Dany is the fire its the only thing that could even make sense.

2. And like Barristan said over and over again. Good Warriors don't always make good kings...dude ran the crown into the ground with his habits. But i don't think any of the people we are counting on will be king. Jon might be the only one left standing. Stannis is done for, once Melisandre realizes that Jon is the true warrior of light she's abandoning him. The Lannisters are done for now that Tywin and Kevan are gone and Tyrion done jumped ship. The Tyrells are gonna ride with whoever is in power they are flakes. The Dornish will suffer for siding with the mummer's dragon and not Dany like originally planned, its been shown that Arianne is out here playing checkers and not chess.

3. As i said before, i think Dany will sit the throne but she won't stay there. In the show (which the writers know the ending already) they showed the Red Keep burned out but it was snowing. I think this means two things. One, obviously Fire and Blood will return to Westeros and Dany will shut shyt down, but that snow represents two things imo, the fact that the Others will come and they will put kings landing to the sword, Dany will die in the efforts...and Jon Snow/Stark will be king of those ashes.

This is just a theory. I claim no House :blessed:

:dwillhuh:

what about Dragons vs others.

or lord of light vs others. I think that is the true fight to be honest. notice all the warriors who fulfill the prophecy about being reborn through smoke. The whitewalkers are not the only one building an army.

it has more than one meaning. The OBVIOUS meaning is Dragons vs Others, but also the battle between good and evil. The connection of Jon, who has the blood of the first men and came up in the cold literally became a man beneath a wall of ice. And Dany, who has the blood of Old Valyria by the smoking sea, bringing Fire and Blood to Slavers Bay and was reborn as the Mother of Dragons literally walking through fire.

NO ONE can claim such things but those two. Not Stannis and his lame shiny sword, Not Aegon and his Golden Company...no one but those two.

Cable TV gives GRRM's world more potential. Face the reality book nazis this show remains superior in every way. Do you think our ancestors would like to read a fantastic tale told with great sentences:flabbynsick:, or watch this shyt on a gigantic screen in HD. :youngsabo:

No contest only the climb exists:ufdup: especially with technology.

I think they go hand in hand. They supplement each other perfectly. We get motives and thought from the books and the show shows us character povs that the book couldn't.

as far as the other are concerned i think Bran will have control of them by the time the series is done, the way it's being writtin it's like he's being set up to be the true king beyond the wall

Jon (assuming he doesn't die and stay dead) is gonna become the true king of the north+wall (and will be a cult/religious leader)

OR he might end up teaming with Dany with her still holding the title as queen

he's a great writer tho im sure it's not gonna turn out how any of us think
