Its easy to see why people are rooting for Robb to bounce back, I think they still have hollywood/primetime tv mentality, even tho Martin already showed with Ned that anyone can get it.
I always liked Robb, but had to concede that as a 16year old (i think) he was out of his depth, what happened was fukked up, think it'll be great TV when it pops off.
Not sure if anyone feels the same way but I think an important thread of the books has been omitted, im sure for a reason, but all the Stark children (although no mention I think with Sansa) are Wargs or some sort and have connections to their Wolves, Robb struggles with this in the books, Arya does even when a great distance away from hers and of course Bran, Jon and to a lesser extent Rickon, judging from the books its important but the series seems to have swerved it.
Just sayin......
I think dude had a great military mind, probably one of the best in Westeros, and that was at 16. Where he slipped was not knowing how to handle the politics and controlling his hormones. Politics is an old mans game, and Rob didn't know all the nuances of that shyt. Plus we all were teenagers before and know how the little head could often control the big head then. That was his downfall. But on some pure military stratagem, Rob was a fukking boss. Only dude to consistently outmaneuver Tywin in the whole series. Tywin basically violated the rules of the Geneva convention to beat Rob.
And damn, they really fukking up with the wildlings as a whole, with the exception of Ygritte. Mance is wack, Tormund too. Both were very charismatic characters that have been resorted to boring hardasses. They're almost like slightly toned down Stannis's. Rattleshirt isn't even around anymore, and he was Jon's primary wildling antagonist. In general the leaders of the Free folk just seem like a bunch of grumpy asses instead of the witty, wisecracking dangerous men (meaning Tormund and Mance of course).
Was anybody else amazed at how perfect the Hound/Dondarion battle and the Jaime/Brienne scenes came off? Them shyts were almost scene for scene straight from the book, and translated flawlessly.
The Warg shyt is definitely being underplayed. I don't know if it's being held back as more of a trump card later, or they don't really plan on delving into other than Bran, cause his is essential to what he's becoming. It's one of the big reasons I like the Stark's though, their like the X-Men of Westeros. They a powerful ass team that's just scattered all over the place right now. They'll be a hell of a team if they can over come together, but I don't think it's gonna happen.
And finally, was that song at the ending credits the song that Patchface was singing in the book? I always wondered if some of the shyt he said was supposed to be foreshadowing. shyt was real cryptic, much like the scenes in the house of the Undying.
