and all, so I got too curious for my own good one day and read the wiki pages for all the goddamn books, like a dumba$$.

I told myself that I'd stop reading the rest until I got the books but I was sitting in front of the laptop like

that was waaaaaaaay different than in the books...it's been awhile...but I'm pretty damn sure they drug out the Barristan reveal for a long ass time

and Strong Belwas my dude just getting totally ignored...that's disappointing

I wonder what the reason for the straight up reveal of Barristan was?...they didn't think they had time for that storyline?

It did feel like a time restraint deal. And at these dudes making up Black characters, but not showing the actual real book nikkas

I read the first 3 books in the matter if a month last summer, its all a blurr to me so I can't remember what happened when but....that was a damn good episode

Barristan works in the books because we don't see what he looks like....would be kinda silly in the TV show when we can clearly see its the actor playing Selmy

Yeah only way they pull one over the viewers is if they drastically changed his appearance and voice or switched the actor lol.

IMO it was still a bit obvious that it was him in the books. His name "Arstan" and the fact that Jorah felt like he recognized him was enough for me to deduce that it was Barristan.

Good lil ep to start the season overall...hit on all the major storylines and looked like they weren't gonna deviate from the book too much. Its hard as hell to cover all the storylines and I give HBO props for what they do. Just look at this ep all the chars barely got a couple min in, just not enough time in an hour . Sucks my nikka Strong Belwas got chopped too but I can live with it.

yea man i was hoping he would become sam the slayer right there till ghost came and saved him.

i also wish we had strong belwas in the show. he woulda been another funny addition to the cast like salladhor saan if they used him right.

It's been a while since I read the books so I don't remember strong belwas that much. Can't wait to to see the Unsullen join with Dany though.
