She was also apparently the person who leaked that this show was coming. The guy who plays Jon Snow told her and she blurted it out apparently lol. By accident I'm sure but it's still hilarious.

A Jon Snow show would almost entirely be full of new shyt, since Jon is going in such a different direction in the books. But I'd imagine there will be parts of the books they mine from. I'd bet money right now that Val, the "wildling princess" will either be the love interest or whoever is the love interest will be based on her. I was kind of surprised the show cut her out.

But I don't really see how they can make this anything worthwhile given that the stakes are so low now. Dany dead, Bran as the "perfect" incorruptible king, Others dead...what is there for Jon to do but go on random adventures like it's some corny Star Wars offshoot show? Damn near all the wildlings view him as a god so I'm not sure how they'd even create tension there.

Yea I know it probably won’t happen but i’m assuming that Kit Harrington and the showrunners who approached Martin with the idea impressed him enough for him to sign off on the premise. He said he’s going to be involved and that scripts have been written so that means again, that the premise isn’t some old bullshyt.

Me PERSONALLY I could go for an “Adventures Of Jon Snow” type series as a change of pace from the heavily mythologized doom and gloom of the main series. It might be a welcome change of pace to NOT see Jon suffer so much after the events if the main series and explore the vast lands beyond the wall. In my mind they could build eventually build a “new” mythology that slowly pulls back on the curtain on Jon’s true destiny, which would involve him being a King somewhere. But thats just me spitballing.

My point is, is that if Martin is not only giving his blessing, but also going to be involved, its GUARANTEED to be better than the final two seasons of GOT. With that fact in mind i’m willing to give the potential for the series the benefit of the doubt.

George must've said fukk it! We're ending this thing on TV.
He probably like fukk the books :russ::hhh::mjcry:

He's never going to finish the books :snoop:
yep, he lost interest long time ago, then HBO dropped the bag on his desk and he started writing again.

Just call it season 9 and bring the whole gang back. To right the wrong of season 8 and the complaints of it being rushed this is what u do.
You take a page out of Godfather pt 2 where they went back n forth with the rise of Vito Corleone and current day Michael Corleone. So the flashback scenes would be everything that wasn't seen on screen in season 8 to help add the detail and nuance to the closing of the show.
Like Cersei Small Council meetings, characters having conversations with Bran trying to figure him out, Dany trying to figure things out Etc. Essentially showing the politics that were still being played while 2 wars were going on.
The current storyline would be someone at Kings Landing poisons Bran and that kicks everything off again just like it did with Jon Arryn... The Wars and tussling for position begins and that brings all of the players back in the fold with a potentially resurrected Dany lurking to add to the chaos.

That won't work

You can't scoop the milk back in the carton

And flashbacks are a bad storytelling device when abused. And it's very easy to abuse them

I read Kit Harrington pitched the idea. So he's basically at the point he decided he liked the money of the show more than whatever he earned after. Good for him I guess. I might watch this is I'm really bored but to be fair, after what they did to the show, they don't deserve my attention.

They should fulfil that fire god prophecy.

Jon goes heel (or baby face depending on your perspective) and wars with the winter fell bytches.

Drogon took daenerys to some magic dragon place and she's revived by the fire god. Births a few more dragons and burns the world down.

It'd let everyone get their anger out from the shyt last 2 seasons.

Bran as the "perfect" incorruptible king,
Im 99% positive one of the major plot lines will be Bran is very corrupt and selfish and he could of prevented all of this as he saw this coming and did nothing to stop it, so he could take the crown.

Also what happened to all the crows Varys sent out informing everyone in the world who Jon Snow is ?

Yup. People want heavy action and war all the time

But Season 1, was hardly any action, no war going til Ned Stark beheading later on

It was just mostly dialogue the entire season

I wouldn't say corrupt but I could see him not being particularly compassionate or in tune with what the people want/feel. Almost like if Dr. Manhattan was the president. So focused on big picture shyt that you ignore creeping threats and suffering. Leading to some envoy traveling to Jon offering to side with him in a civil war dispute, if he declares himself king. But given that Jon would never betray his brother - and his brother will literally see the plot unfold and be prepared - I don't see this being compelling television.

Plus there's no way Tyrion will be in the show.

He must want them HBO dollars like his wife is getting. I can’t see why he wouldn’t have pitched it years ago, if it meant that much to him.

Unseen flashback scenes of season 8 only for season 9 and we gotta kill off Bran somehow to make the playing field somewhat even for everybody else. He's too much of a cheat code to have around.

The best move for GoT and HBO would be to announce this as a new sequel show but then just run the it back from season 5 :mjlit:

Don't say anything to anybody and just rewrite the whole thing like nothing happened. The only way to save the franchise is to pretend that last three seasons never happened. I guarantee that fans would play along and get back on the bandwagon.
