yea, a low key escape after everyone leaves the pits would've gotten us to the same point - her flying back to dragonstone to let them know what's up without the wildly illogical confrontation with no death

If you watch the “inside the episode” it’s clear they did that purely for the dramatic effect. Straight season 7/8 nonsense. While this show is much better than those two seasons I just laugh at anyone trying to claim it’s better in any way to the first 6 seasons of GOT. As much as I’m enjoying this show, it’s mini faults just highlight how GOAT the GOAT of Thrones was at its peak.

In this episode, a few things don't sit well with me, the feet thing.

Also, it bothers me that the white widow making those threats vail ass threats. What would make her think she has any leverage anywhere in Kings Landing? Lords with armies aren't even making those threats to the Hand, and yet she makes those statements to his face directly.
She felt like her worth as an asset gave her leverage to talk slick, and she was kinda right. Otto would've kept her on his team for the information and upper hand she provided (securing Aegon first), he knows how valuable someone like that would be moving forward.

Littlefemur using her demise as a chip to maintain his arrangement with the Queen is what got her clipped.

its not about aegon as a character. its how clumsily all these events were thrown together

why does otto, a guy who's literally met mysaria before when he had a direct confrontation with daemon somehow come to the point where he's asking her where his grandson is on the day he's wagered everything on

he's shown to have an information network in the past, but somehow not only does he not know of her being back in KL but he's also forced to meet her in the open to get access to *her* information to find his heir - who is stuffed into some cubbyhole in the middle of a horribly conspicuous building

this was worse than some of the season 8 shyt the more i think about it lol...
That was so fukking stupid. How long was he supposed to hide out in there with no food or water?

Otto such a byotch.

Drilling into Alicent that Rhaenyra would have to kill Alicent’s kids then immediately tries to kill Rhaenyra.
Like I don’t know, maybe leave her alone and she wouldn’t do a dang thing?

Otto is a realist. Alicent outchea going out of her way to make her degenerate son king but expecting Rhae and Daemon to just fall back. Alicent is naive af for that. So yes, Otto is right.
