But he’s a certified idiot who’s naïveté and weakness got us in this mess

He should’ve married Laena after his first wife died. It was the best for the realm (it would have ended the rift between the two greatest houses caused by his own ascension) and it was the best for him (would have given him time to grieve his first wife’s death as Laena came of age). Instead he chose to marry Alicent. That was a particularly terrible decision given the fact that he had just made the controversial decision in naming his daughter heir. He knew she needed a lot of help to make that stick, but his dumbass goes and marries her best friend, possibly her ONLY friend. No wonder Rhae went and found comfort in getting her back blown out.

He compounds this by extremely weak leadership. He should’ve checked Rhae from the beginning, but he sits by idly whilst she has not 1 but 3 obvious b*stards. This last episode proved that the illegitimacy of those kids is just as obvious to the characters as it is to us, the audience. Viserys being weak as hell thinking he can just command people to accept them; naïve too: ain’t no one listening to his commands from the grave.

In his own house, he’s letting Alicent flagrantly dress her and her kids in green in an obvious sign of rebellion. Again, Viserys thinks if he just ignores it, it didn’t happen. Astoundingly foolish. This is obvious to us, the audience, I gotta imagine it’s even more obvious to the characters who supposedly take this stuff way more seriously. I’m surprised they’re not showing more whispers/snide remarks about the dress of Viserys and Alicent’s boys. They only showed Larys make a remark about Alicent showing up late to Rhae’s wedding kickoff in green, but the dress of the boys for YEARS should also evoke some side eyes.

I don’t think Laena’s daughter had any right to Vhaegar. If that’s the case Laena didn’t have a right to Vhaegar as its previous riders were all Targ.

Laena is a Targaryen through her mother and she married a Targaryen.

Yeah people forgot this. Rhaenyra and Laenor's kids are born Velaryons, but Jace has to ascend as king with the Targaryen name. Lucerys keeps the Velaryon name in Driftmark.

Where are you getting this? There’s nothing that points to a dragon letting anyone else but the “owner” ride them.

Viserys is a whole fukking bytch. No one respects his word, everyone knows he has the world's biggest blindspot for Rhaenyra, and he isn't about to do shyt to anyone. If we're keeping it honest, if he was on his shyt and following what courtly protocol is SUPPOSED to be, Alicent should've been turned into a pack for assaulting his heir, and someone of his blood family.

Alicent going nuclear is your Denny Green Memorial "THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE" moment of the season. And even though it's completely understandable for her to want payback for her kid losing an eye, but if this motherfukker Viserys won't even acknowledge the remote possibility of them being illegitimate, there's no way he's letting them get sliced up over a fight they didn't even start.

Aemond a bytch, too. He knows good and damn well the pig prank was some shyt Aegon's deviant ass put together. So instead of having smoke for him, this bytch decides to immediately punch down at everyone else after getting a dragon. And then, AFTER he gets Nick Fury'd, decides to throw Aegon under the bus for starting the rumor about Rhaenyra's kids. If any of these characters needs to die a horrible death in the near future, he can go first. While Alicent watches.

Alicent gotta be the least effective supposed power player in the history of these shows. She really thought she was going to overrule the king just because her personal guard is still mad about getting one nighted over a damn decade ago. She really thought the king was going to pick his wife over his daughter.

Corlys saying history remembers names, not blood is sadly, some of the most real world relevant shyt there is.
