it was “explained” in the episode but I agree it wasn’t enough…she said something along the lines of wanting to die a warrior’s death maybe a few seconds before she just ups and walks in front of the dragon and commands it to burn her…but to me we didn’t get enough characterization to make that line or her death resonate

I’ll give you an example…say “you” and a dude at work become cool…you don’t really know him but y’all hang out and decide to go to a bar one evening…while y’all chilling, police come and say they’d like to question him and dude says “fukk that…I’m an outlaw muthafukkas…y’all not taking me alive” and dies in a shootout with police…now even tho he screamed “I’m an outlaw…” seconds before he got shot by police, the whole exchange is going to be confusing bcuz you didn’t really know dude and that seemingly came out of nowhere…

…on the other hand imagine if “you” knew the dude beforehand and saw little examples here and there that demonstrated he absolutely hated police…although it would still be jarring, you’d have a better understanding if he got into a shootout with police…shyt you probably might even EXPECT it if you saw police coming to talk to him

As far her extremely short characterization, I agree with that, I just accepted that she wasn't supposed to be around for long
Folks getting aggy because the actors are Black, forgetting that these events happen to White characters in the book, so don't get too attached

I hear you but fwiw I’m not just bringing that up as an issue bcuz she was black…I as well as others have expressed the lack of characterization with other characters such as cripplefinger/little femur
