GOT characters were sharper because of all the turmoil. HOTD characters are coming from 69 years of peace and 100 years of one dynasty rule.

Targs really got carried by Aegon & dragon eggs for centuries.

Whole family acts like a bunch of teenagers.

They should have hammered all this type of stuff out on some god emperor type ish before dying instead we get almost 300 years of infighting and scheming
People literally holding the heir ship hostage
People doing whatever they want when they are supposed to follow the cultures customs and laws
People just not doing anything

All of this should have been planned for

That made Rhae’s b*stard children far too obvious and in doing so makes Cersei being able to pass her b*stard children off for years look funny in the light. Maybe the story ahead is more interesting because I feel that they should just take their time with certain things. The pacing is at 180km/h whereas most viewers would be comfortable doing 60. At the end of episode 5 I was hyped to no end only to be taken 15 yrs into the future on the next episode.

There's one more time-jump coming in episode 8 (I'm assuming it's the Targ/Strong, Targ/Hightower and Targ/Brehlaryon children we saw all getting their final actors) and then that's gonna be the locked-in cast they ride for 3-4 seasons or however long they go.

This is not true. So many places online people are complaining that its slow and nothing is happening. People really can't look beyond their own preferences.
