So Cal
Never heard of the books before the show. Show was so good that i wanted too know more. Started reading mid first season. Books are better easily, no comparison. Show quality dipped once it didn't have the books for reference.

Much better. GoT, despite its flaws in the last few seasons, is still next level television. The Borgias isn't in the same ballpark.

Books but it's looking like they'll never get finished...things were starting to get extra real too:mjaggy:

If I remember Jon Connington and the Alleged son of Rhaegar landed in storms end...and Dany hasn't even escaped vaes dothrak yet. Jon hasn't been revived, and Stannis is still alive,Theon may or may not be executed by Stannis ...shyt is popping off in Dorne:mjaggy:

Are the books disturbing or disgusting in anyway?
The Reek/Ramsay story is way more :demonic:

For me watching the first season of the show helped me understand the books more..as it is easier to visualize the places...also the format in which the books are written..going from pov of different characters on different continents..when you see that play out on the show it makes it easier to comprehend imo.

Usually the correct answer is read the books, but if you actually want a fully told story, watch the show. Unless you're willing to wait 10 years(and that's being generous) for the book series to finish.

Damn im gonna love GoT!

I finally watched Showtime's "The Borgias" a few months ago or so. It's definitely not as good as GoT, but I do think it's a slept-on show on this forum.

I started reading the books after watching the first 3 seasons. Read all of them within a month, they were that good. Continued watching the show after I finished the books and after season 4, the show started to become kind of ridiculous. Clearly the books is what made the show great but with no new material we had to rely on D&D’s own creativity to continue the show. It’s definitely suffered as a result and although I still enjoy it (despite the ridiculous storylines that occurred especially in season 6 and 7) I have a higher anticipation for the next book ( if it ever happens) than the new season.

So basically, the books are better.
